Hillary Clinton wins Pennsylvania by 10%

Vote: Clinton: 55%

Obama: 45%

Obama outspent Hillary 3 t0 1, and still couldn't deliver the knock-out punch. Pennsylvania is Hillary country, so he wasn't gonna win, no matter how much he spent. Over 10 million is alot, but you can't buy votes. Pennsylvania is NOT for sale, I think Sen.Obama miss that sign.

Hillary Clinton got her double-digit win in Pennsylvania. Now she's on her way to Indiana, and President Clinton has four stops in North Carolina. Hillary's ahead in Indiana by 11 one poll, some from 6-10 in other polls. In North Carolina, she's down 9 in one poll, and the highest I saw was 15 down for her. She has a battle in NC, but two weeks is long way, and anything can happen.

Obama couldn't close the deal, so much cash on hand, over 7 weeks to argue his case, and loss. Pennsylvania is a swing state, and he failed to show his strengths among lunch bucket-blue collar democrats.

Many are now asking: With some much cash and appeal for Obama, a woman with high negatives and unfavorable rating, and still can't close the deal??? Super delegates may move a little to Hillary Clinton, but are still frozen until May 6's next primaries. Obama needed to win Pennsylvania to give his electability a boost, but it was just down-graded even more. Good night for Hillary Clinton, a disappointing night for Barack Obama!

Clinton: "A Win is a Win"!!!!!

Polls will be closing less than two hours in Pennsylvania, and turn out is not so high in Philly.

If turnout's not high in Philly than that might not be good for Obama.

If Hillary Clinton win by 8-10 percent than it may be a boost for her in momentum, and could take back the popular vote.

If Clinton win by 12%-15% percent than that would be a mini-landslide. IF it's 15% or maybe more than Obama has fail to win a key swing state to prove he's can carry a diverse state with blue collar Democrats.

The Reality is Obama needs to win more than Hillary does. Obama won't win Pennsylvania, but how big the loss? I say between 12%-15% percent. If it's over 15%, even better for Hillary, and superdelegates will take notice.

Hillary Clinton's New AD "kitchen" before Pennsylvania Primary!!!

Hey everybody, I'm back! I know it's been a long time, but I'm back in time for Pennsylvania Primary, and the expectations are high.

My predictions for tomorrow is Hillary Clinton will win, but by how much???

I say she'll win at least between 10%-15% percent. I wouldn't be surprise it's between 18%-20% percent.

Some say the new AD above from the Clinton camp is politics of fear. I don't think so, and it's ridiculous for the Obama camp to assert that.

The new AD out a day before the Primary in PA ask a simple question, some thinking, and an answer. It's makes people think, and it appears the Obama camp doesn't like that.

Oh well, enjoy the new "kitchen AD". If you can't stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen. From the poor performance in the debate by obama, and now saying Hillary is using the fear card is a wild theory.

Get into the AD, this AD makes people think!

Election Results: Hillary Clinton wins TX, OH, RI !!!!

What a night for Sen.Hillary Clinton!!! Here's what her husband said before last night's big night took place!!!

"If she wins in Texas and Ohio, she'll be the nominee. If she doesn't, I don't think she can be. It's all on you." - former President Bill Clinton

Here's last night's results:

CNN and Fox call Texas for Sen.Hillary Clinton. This was close by she pull it off with a narrow 4 point win. I was hoping Texas to look like California, but this win is good with some bragging-rights, also possibly with a few more delegates than Obama. Huge win for her.

Sen.John McCain wins Texas GOP Primary to win GOP nomination, congrats to him.

CNN and Fox call Ohio for Sen.Hillary Clinton. Another "no surprise". Hillary Clinton has a her base back. However, I heard Republicans was crossing over to over for Obama, so the margin should be wider. She wins 55% to his 44%. A big win for her.

CNN and Fox call Vermont for Sen.Barack Obama. This is no surprise. Vermont is very liberal, and the war in Iraq is at the top of list, but Obama's argument is deeply flawed. That's for another post. He won with 60% to her 38% of the vote.

Sen.John McCain win the GOP Primary in Vermont also. No surprise at all.

CNN and Fox call Rhode Island for Sen.Hillary Clinton. No surprise here. Rhode Island is a little state with a big voice, and they choose Hillary Clinton. The state is also close to the state of New York. She won 58% to his 40% of the vote.

Final Thoughts: Hillary Clinton had a amazing comeback last night, just like would. Last night was a test not just for Hillary, but Obama as well. Obama has too prove he could finally beat her in a diverse big state like Texas, and a major swing state like Ohio. Unfortunately, Sen.Obama failed the test BIG TIME! The Obama camp along with media can spin all they want, he hasn't won one big state other than his home state Illinois.

He's winning states that are red with caucuses, along a purple, and a couple of blue states. Hillary Clinton has passed the test. She continues to do better in the major swing state like Ohio, even with Republican cross-over, he still couldn't beat her. In Texas, I thought he had a chance, but suffered a disappointing loss by almost 5 points. Hillary won my birth state, I admit i was nervous, but she pulled it off. What's interesting, she's winning the states a Democrat needs to capture the White House. Obama hasn't proven he can take on John McCain.

In New Jersey, a Democratic state, in a head-head between Obama and McCain, he is very competitive with Obama than Hillary. In meaning, McCain could make a traditional blue state go red, and that's NOT good. It's a Known fact far-left liberal Democrats don't win General elections, only moderate [centrists] like Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and Hillary Clinton can win a General Election.

The Democratic party and Super-delegates can afford to roll the dice with Obama, or give him the ball, McCain could possibly win by a landslide in November against Obama. The Democratic party can't afford to suspend belief from reality, and just plain wishful thinking. Democratic leader can't afford to ignore Hillary Clinton's hard experience, toughness, base of support, and centrist appeal. There is NO time for gambling or experimenting!!!

Obama's Hollow 'Judgment' and Empty Record

Barack Obama argues that he deserves the Democratic nomination and Hillary Clinton doesn't because he possesses superior "judgment," as he calls it, on the key issues we face as a nation. As definitive proof he offers one speech he made in 2002 during a reelection campaign for an Illinois senate seat in the most liberal district in the state, so liberal that no other position would have been viable. When he made that speech, Obama was not privy to the briefings by, among others, Secretary of State Colin Powell, in support of the Authorization of Use of Military Force as a diplomatic tool to push the international community to impose intrusive inspections on Saddam Hussein.

Would Obama have acted differently had he been in Washington or had he had the benefit of the arguments and the intelligence that the administration was offering to the Congress debating that resolution? During the 2002-2003 timeframe, he was a minor local official uninvolved in the national debate on the war so we can only judge from his own statements prior to the 2008 campaign. Obama repeated these points in a whole host of interviews prior to announcing his candidacy. On July 27, 2004, he told the Chicago Tribune on Iraq: "There's not much of a difference between my position and George Bush's position at this stage." In his book, The Audacity of Hope, published in 2006, he wrote, "...on the merits I didn't consider the case against war to be cut-and- dried." And, in 2006, he clearly said, "I'm always careful to say that I was not in the Senate, so perhaps the reason I thought it was such a bad idea was that I didn't have the benefit of US intelligence. And for those who did, it might have led to a different set of choices."

I was involved in that debate in every step of the effort to prevent this senseless war and I profoundly resent Obama's distortion of George Bush's folly into Hillary Clinton's responsibility. I was in the middle of the debate in Washington. Obama wasn't there. I remember what was said and done. In fact, the administration lied in order to secure support for its war of choice, including cooking the intelligence and misleading Congress about the intent of the authorization. Senator Clinton's position, stated in her floor speech, was in favor of allowing the United Nations weapons inspectors to complete their mission and to build a broad international coalition. Bush rejected her path. It was his war of choice.

There is no credible reason to conclude that Obama would have acted any differently in voting for the authorization had he been in the Senate at that time. Indeed, he has said as much. The supposed intuitive judgment he exercised in his 2002 speech was nothing more than the pander of a local election campaign, just as his current assertions of superior judgment and scurrilous attacks on Hillary Clinton are a pander to those who now retroactively think the war was a mistake without bothering to acknowledge Senator Clinton's actual position at the time and instead fantasizing that she was nothing but a Bush clone. Obama willfully encourages and plays off this falsehood.

What should we make of Obama's other judgments in foreign affairs? Take Afghanistan, for example. It has been evident for some time that our efforts there are going badly and that cooperation and support from our NATO allies would be helpful.As chairman of the subcommittee on Senate Foreign Relations responsible for NATO and Europe, Obama could have used his lofty position actually to engage the issue and pressure the administration to take some action to improve our chance of success in that conflict against the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Of course, that would have involved holding hearings, questioning administration witnesses, and taking a position and offering alternatives. That is what we expect that from senators in a democracy. It is called oversight.

But, instead, Obama, by his own admission, offers the excuse that he has been too busy running for president to do anything substantive, such as direct his staff to organize a single hearing. "Well, first of all," Obama was forced to confess in the Democratic debate in Ohio on February 26, "I became chairman of this committee at the beginning of this campaign, at the beginning of 2007. So it is true that we haven't had oversight hearings on Afghanistan." To date, his subcommittee has held no policy hearings at all -- none. At the same time that Obama claimed he was too busy campaigning to do anything substantive, racking up one of the worst attendance records in the Senate, Senator Clinton chaired extensive hearings of the Subcommittee on Superfund and Environmental Health and attended many others as a member of the Armed Service Committee.

As a consequence of Obama's dereliction of duty on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, a feckless administration has had absolutely no oversight as it careens from disaster to disaster in Afghanistan, including the central governments loss of control over 70 percent of the country and yet another bumper crop of opium to fuel the efforts of the Taliban and their terrorist allies. Of course, if you don't hold hearings, conduct oversight, make recommendations or sponsor legislation, then you have no record to explain or defend and you are free to take whatever position is convenient when attacking those who actually did address issues. Meanwhile, on the campaign trail, Obama holds forth on Afghanistan, chiding the administration and our allies as though he's a profile in courage and not someone who has abandoned his post in establishing accountability.

On Iran and the question of designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization, the junior senator from Illinois was not quite so clever at avoiding taking a position. He first co-sponsored the "Counter-Proliferation Act of 2007," which contained explicit language identifying the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization. He subsequently claimed to oppose the Kyl-Lieberman sense of the Senate resolution proposing the same thing. Obama's accountability problem here is that he didn't show up for the vote on that resolution -- a vote that would have put him on record. Then he declined to sign on to a letter put forward by Senator Clinton making explicit that the resolution could not be used as authority to take military action. All we have is Obama's rhetoric juxtaposed with his co-sponsorship of a piece of legislation that proposed what he says he opposed.

Obama's gyrations on Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran are not the actions of one imbued with superior intuitive judgment, but rather the machinations of a political opportunist looking to avoid having his fingerprints on any issue that might be controversial, and require real judgment, while preserving his freedom to bludgeon his adversary for actually taking positions as elected office demands. It is hard to discern whether Senator Obama is a man of principle, but it is clear that he is not a man of substance. And that judgment, based on his hollow record, is inescapable.

America Votes 2008: Super Tuesday Results and Commentary!!!

It's that time of year again to go out and vote for the canidate we think who is best qualified to be President of the United States. Super Tuesday has 24 states voting that is rich with delegates and superdelegates[in the Democrats case].

Here's the latest Super Tuesday Results:

Breaking News: CNN calls California for Democrat Hillary Clinton and GOP John McCain! This is a BIG BIG win for Sen.Hillary Clinton! Congrats to Sen.Clinton!!!

Minnesota: Democrat Barack Obama wins Democratic Caucus!

Connecticut: Democrat Barack Obama wins Democratic Primary. GOP John McCain wins Republican Primary.

Kansas: Democrat Barack Obama win Democratic Caucus. Sen.Obama wins his mother's state.

DELAWARE: GOP John McCain wins the GOP primary in Delaware. Democrat Barack Obama wins the Democratic primary in Delaware. IT was real close on the Democratic side.

ALABAMA: Democrat Sen. Barack Obama wins the Democratic primary in Alabama. Note: Thanks to a large black population. GOP Mike Huckabee wins the GOP primary in Alabama. The South loves Conservative former baptist preachers. No Surprise there!

WEST VIRGINIA: First win of the day. GOP Mike Huckabee wins the Republican Convention in West Virginia with 18 delegates-winner take all for him. It's been said Romney was in the lead, but Sen.McCain's supporter help Huckabee win the West virginia convention.

GEORGIA: Barack Obama wins Georgia's the Democratic primary here in my home state. What cause this victory? Well according to exit polls, Sen.Obama had 88% of black voters which Georgia has a big black population. No Surprise.

ILLINOIS: GOP John McCain wins the Republican primary in Illinois. He was in the led for the past week so no surprise. Democratic: Democrat Barack Obama wins the Democratic primary in Illinois. No surprise Sen.Obama wins his home state, but CNN'sGloria Borger and Mr.Martin said he ONLY won 52% of the Latino vote in his own home state. That is a MAJOR problem for Sen.Obama. In my view, California, Arizona and New Mexico look good for Sen.Clinton.

MASSACHUSETTS: GOP Mitt Romney wins the Republican primary in Massachusetts. Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic primary in Massachusetts. Democrat Sen.Clinton wins a HUGE victory in Massachusetts over Sen.Obama. With the first black Governor Deval, Sen.Kerry and even Sen. Ted Kennedy. This is a sweet victory for Sen.Clinton!

NEW JERSEY: Democrat Sen.Clinton wins Democratic New Jersey Primary. This was hard fought, and she has led for months in this state. GOP John McCain wins the Republican primary in New Jersey.

NEW YORK: Democrat Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic primary in her home state New York. No Surprise here for Sen.Clinton. Sen.Obama gave a strong show as Sen.Clinton did in his home state.

TENNESSEE: Democrat Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic primary in Tennessee. Sen.Clinton is winning in the south as Sen.Obama with Tennessee, Florida, so she has showing in the south.

OKLAHOMA: Democrat Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic Primary in Oklahoma. Sen.Clinton led in Oklahoma for months, a victory for her in that state.

Who's the clear choice---Hillary or Obama???

I have been on the fence between Hillary and Obama for months. I know I had prematurely said who I would support, but went back being undecided.The 2008 Election in November is very important and many people of different races, ages, religions, genders, and sexual orientations are more engage than ever!

As a Democrat, and for many others, we never expected to get the chance to vote for the first woman or african-american president of the United States. Now we have that chance, unfortunately at the same time.

Many Families, couples, friends, and etc are divided over who's the better canidate to be President, and to face and defeat the GOP nominee who is supposely Sen.John McCain[more on him later].

After watching the California Democratic debate, and I couldn't even be attentive to the GOP debate, which like many others I nearly fell asleep. As for the Democratic debate last thursday, I loved it, and I watched it twice over the weekend.

A few Points on the debate with issues that concern me and help conclude my decision:

Healthcare: It's been clear to me that Sen.Hillary Clinton owns and masters this issue on Healthcare which is very important for many Americans. Many experts note Sen.Clinton's Healthcare plan is better and superior to Sen.Obama's plan. What I also know, and it was brought up in the debate that Sen.Obama's plan leaves 15million Americans out as follows:

Concord Monitor: ‘Gruber estimated that 15 million people would remain uninsured under Obama’s plan.’ “Jonathan Gruber, a health economist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology who worked on the Massachusetts plan, said a mandate means "the difference between universal or near-universal coverage. Obama would have a large expansion, better than anything the Republicans have, but not universal coverage," Gruber said. "You can't get it without a mandate; it's just not possible." Gruber estimated that 15 million people would remain uninsured under Obama's plan.” [Concord Monitor, 12/26/07]

It's been well-documented that Sen.Clinton has been fighting for Universal Healthcare for over ten years, as President she'll have more authority to get it or close to Universal Healthcare. Sen.Obama did well, but is weak on this issue. Score 1 for Sen.Clinton!

Both Sen.Clinton and Sen. Obama are even on the Economy and Immigration so they tie in my view.

When asked a question on if viewing America as a business like Mitt Romney argues, and why should the country vote either as the CEO? Sen.Clinton gave a good answer to a loud applause. I agree as Sen.Clinton said: " America is more than a Buisness, it is a trust, and a complex organization that is not looking for a profit". I agree with that! Both Sen.Clinton and Sen.Obama support path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. Score 1 for each!

Iraq War: This issue really made me upset of how Sen.Clinton has been harassed for her vote which was based on Intelligence information and the so-called evidence from the corrupt Bush Adminstration. The same Adminstration that convince the American people and manipulated the then Republican Congress . The Media never mention Sen.Obama wasn't even in the U.S Senate at the time! I agree with Sen.Clinton, Bush abused the authority that was given to him.

Sen.Obama continues to argue he was against it from the start??? I have been questioning this, and doing some research. I found this interesting quote back in 2004 when Sen.Obama was asked about the Iraq War:

"When asked about Senators Kerry and Edwards' votes on the Iraq war, Obama said, "I'm not privy to Senate intelligence reports,’ Mr. Obama said. ‘What would I have done? I don't know. What I know is that from my vantage point the case was not made.’

Ummm, I thought Sen.Obama said he was against it from the start meaning: 2001-2002? Another quote from Chicago Tribune back in 2004, to my surprise, Obama says his position was no different than President Bush:

In a meeting with Chicago Tribune reporters at the Democratic National Convention, Obama said, “On Iraq, on paper, there's not as much difference, I think, between the Bush administration and a Kerry administration as there would have been a year ago. […] There's not much of a difference between my position and George Bush's position at this stage.” [Chicago Tribune, 07/27/04]

Okay, once again, now this is what I thought all along with the media and everything, and I have a question to posed: I though Obama was opposed to the war from the start? That's what Sen.Obama has been saying, in last thursday's debate, and even Obama supporters are spreading this...........should I say lie or as Former President Bill Clinton said "fairy tale"?

Over weekend I have taken a whole 180 degree look at Sen.Obama without the poetic speeches of "change" and "hope"!

So Mr.Clinton was right, and the media made him look like a mad man attacking a black canidate, and why was black people thinking Mr.Clinton was talking about Obama's canidancy for President for the United States??? It seems the media has put on notice anyone who questions Obama, if you're white, then there's racism coming from the person, specificly Mr.Clinton!

I have taken all this in account of who to support and vote for on Super Tuesday, and in November. So I have decided the clear choice is: Sen. Hillary Clinton.

She really won me over in last thursday's debate, as I have noted above. She really showed her true self, who had command and experience on the issues, especially on Policy. She gave detailed responses on the policies, and the things to consider when making decision like: getting out of Iraq in a responsible way, and doing it right.

Sen.Obama likes to use the phrase:" you have to be right on day one"! Well, you can't always be right on day. The phrase is catchy, but when you think about it, it's a deeply flawed phrase!

Sen.Clinton has shown she's ready to lead, and ready on day one.

The media has given Sen.Obama a free ride, and has turn him into a superstar! The media is heavily bias against Sen.Hillary Clinton. Even after the debate on CNN, a conservative Republican said the obvious:" she won the debate". Other pundits tried to dig up reasons why Obama should be declared the winner, but many said he didn't do enough, and I agree.

On the GOP nominee: If it's Sen. John McCain, then Sen. Hillary Clinton, is the democrat to beat McCain. I'll have another post up explaining why Hillary is the one, even though it would close, but she's the democrat to beat McCain with his so-called straight-talk.

Sen.Clinton is prepared with experience to bring change. It's been noted in Chicago on Obama's over 130 present votes in the state's legislature. Well, in the Oval Office, you can't vote present, and not make the tough decisions. Hillary Clinton has made tough decisions, and we need a President who's not going hesitate to make tough decisions.

It pains me to say this: but blogger Captain appears to be right about Obama as not doing much in the state of Illnois. I really don't like agreeing with the man, but he has made some good points about Obama.

However,let me say, I love everything Sen.Obama has accomplished in his bid for the White House, but he is not sqeaky clean like the media wants everyone to believe. For me it's Sen.Hillary Clinton all the way. She's ready to lead, bring solutions, and bring change with her experience.

Florida Primary: The Final Showing heading into Super Tuesday!!!

Most of the polls have closed for the Florida Presidential Primary as I'm writing this. The Sunshine state has become an important state on the GOP side for the nomination. On the Democratic side, some are calling it a "beauty contest".

State Democrats broke party rules, moving it's primary too early, and was strip of all it's delegates. State Republicans broke party rules also, but was strip of only half of it's delegates.

The DNC, in my view, acted to harshly against a large state like Florida that is important, and the DNC is abandoning voters.

However, Sen.Clinton is trying to get some, if not all delegates reinstated. The Clinton campaign argues it's important everyone's voice is heard at the Democratic Convention in August. I agree with the argument. Sen.Clinton will be in Florida tonight for a victory celebration.

Predicited winners: Democratic side: Hillary Clinton. Republican side: Mitt Romney.

NBC Dateline: Benny Hinn's lavish lifestyle exposed!!!

The video above is worth the watch on self-proclaimed anointed Benny Hinn.

I always wonder what what televangelists do between their globe-trotting conversion crusades? This NBC Dateline special on Benny Hinn would put most true christians to shame.
Facts on Benny:-- Hinn's salary is somewhere between $500K and a million dollars per year.
-- he has a $10 million seaside mansion,.
-- he owns a private jet with annual operating costs of about $1.5 million. and he drives a Mercedes SUV and convertible, valued at about $80,000 each.

I agree with Christian watch dog, you're a servant for God's people, not a King and shouldn't be living like one.

Some will be shock. Some will not be surprise like me. Some will deny it, which would not surprise me.

Benny Hinn continued to reject any commitment to join a Evangelical Council For Financial Accountability.

"He has also been criticized by a number of Christian watchdog groups for not joining the Evangelical Council For Financial Accountability. The Council is the leading accreditation agency that helps Christian ministries earn the public’s trust through adherence to seven standards of accountability. It has over 1,100 members, including Pat Robertson and Billy Graham. Benny Hinn refuses to join.
...Benny Hinn insists that every penny is spent on God's work. But the fifth estate obtained confidential financial records from inside the Hinn ministry. These documents were provided by individuals who say they want the public to know how Benny Hinn spends the money entrusted to him.

The fifth estate asked Roddy Allan, a forensic accountant, to review the ministry's expense and travel records. He says, "I'm a mere bean counter, but it would be hard to persuade me that you had to incur that kind of expense in order to accomplish a business objective."

Oh, let's not forget his failed prophecies on the gay community:

From CBS News: CBS News has learned Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, is investigating six prominent televangelist ministries for possible financial misconduct.
...According to Grassley's office, the Iowa Republican is trying to determine whether or not these ministries are improperly using their tax-exempt status as churches to shield lavish lifestyles.

The six ministries identified as being under investigation by the committee are led by: Paula White, Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn. Three of the six - Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar - also sit on the Board of Regents for the Oral Roberts University.

One down, and four or more to go.Paula White, Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, and Kenneth Copeland. You guys are next on the list. I hope you're not mis-handling your money like Benny.

Religion's Need to Construct Enemies!!!

[Another informative and insightful guest post from Jerry Manker, and Jerry's words are right on point to everything I would say on how religion has it's picks on a certain group that's socially acceptable to torment. Enjoy this post, it's worth the read,-Justice MH]

There is an interesting article in the "Salt Lake Tribune" regarding Salt Lake City's newly elected mayor Ralph Becker's first official action as mayor to have a citywide registry of domestic partners, which would include same-sex couples.

Beyond the courageous action of Ralph Becker, and the indications that, relatively speaking, Salt Lake City is far more progressive, loving, and civilized regarding Gay people than is most, if not all, the rest of Utah, the following comment was made on the article that I think sums up a great deal of the reasons for the homophobia of many in churches of various religions, and of the many professing Christian people, churches, and denominations within the institutional Church. I'm reprinting the comment as it was written:

"Growing up in the South in the '50s taught allot 'bout Christianity. Seems that Christian tribes have to have devils to keep the members focused and together. Nothin like hav'in an evil outside enemies tryin to destroy tribe to spur unity and loyalty. Back then is was blacks, they didn't call 'em blacks but somethin much nastier, and the Jews and of course Catholics or anyone that wasn't white and protestant. I can't recollect ever hearin of Mormons back then. Yea, you could see the church members on Sunday and know they wore triple "K" on certain nights. Today is no different, religious tribes still need devils and evil to stir the troops, today its Mexicans, still blacks but not so much, and gays. Looks like things haven't changed much in the last 50 years. Nice to see there are still those brave folks still trying."

I disagree with this commentator on only one issue: Black people are still discriminated against in many subtle and not so subtle ways

The famous 19th Century Sociologist, Emile Durkheim, asserted that when there is a threatening out-group, the in-group untites to protect itself against it. Therefore, in order to cement in-group solidarity or cohesion, meeting the needs of people to have a sense of belonging, the in-group constructs "enemies" against which to identify, so that the out-group is not only fodder for the in-group's hate; serves as the target of that hate; enables the in-group leaders and their followers to materially and/or psychologically and/or socially and/or politically gain from demonizing their constructed enemies designated as the out-group.

They construct out-groups as "enemies" because to do so also serves to help make members of that in-group feel self-righteous, and appear to be more "moral," more "religious," more "superior" to the out-group they have constructed that is frequently depicted as being "diseased," "disordered," "evil," "destructive of the family, tradition, and all other institutions and values that all 'religious' and other 'good people' hold dear."

So, even when there is no enemy at the moment, the in-group must construct an enemy, an out-group, so as to meet these needs that they have in order to make and justify their claim to having moral hegemony, and depicting themselves as being on the "moral" high ground, even when, as in the RC Church, that group is rocked with sexual scandals involving children and subsequent coverups that amount to criminal facilitation that cry out to God for vengeance.

Therefore, regarding professing Christians creating "needed enemies," Gay people have served the same function in most of the institutional Church as have the Jews, the Afro-Americans (many of whom have now helped take the lead in the oppression of Gay people), the Catholics (who have now been among those in the forefront in the oppression of Gay people), women, and all other designated out-groups, so as to not only keep the money rolling in, but to keep people coming back to listen to fiery sermons that jack up their emotions to fever pitch, and affirming their "righteousness" and the "rightness of their cause," and giving the hate-filled clergy forums to express their hate in the context of usually overwhelming congregational approval.

Since appealing to the dark side of people's emotions is a sure winner, as it pays off in so many ways, and for so many people, professing Christians or not, there is no end to the "rewards" gained by homophobic clergy, Black or White, in continuing their rhetorical and discriminatory targeting of Gay people, viewed by them as being "safe" targets to persecute, in order to meet their own conscious and/or unconscious needs and agendas.

This need for out-groups by self-identified members of the in-group will never end, as it seems to be one of the many tragic parts of the human condition. However, targeting a given group will definitely end when there is no longer seen to be a payoff in so doing by the in-group, and that state of affairs will only occur when there is sufficient and continuous grassroots and organizational activism that presents the in-group with the realization that the costs of their creation of the "enemy" far exceeds what rewards they have been receiving from their creation.

That is one of the reasons I have been suggesting such activism as coordinated picketing of homophobic churches; boycotting homophobic churches; refusing to support any politician who is not unequivocally in favor of full and equal civil rights; taking to civil and, if appropriate, criminal court clergy (and others) who spew hateful rhetoric that slanders Gay people and/or may reasonably be expected to cause others to assault and murder Gay people. [For my most recent salvo in this area, please see my December 29th post.]

As I wrote in response to a comment made byDon Charles regarding my January 11th post:

"Homophobic pastors who spew hateful rhetoric must be held accountable for the ravages they cause, and the lies they tell about Gay people, and taking them to court is one of the best ways of holding them accountable.

"Rather than indulge in political expediency, and being anemic regarding meaningful activism, the Human Rights Campaign should be the one to file such suits (and they should be pressured to do so), as they undoubtedly have the funds and staff necessary to see these suits to completion."

It is important to recognize that religious homophobia has absolutely nothing to do with the things of God or of the Spirit! It has to do with the functions and perceived rewards to the in-group that hate produces! And never, never buy into the lie that they "hate the sin but love the sinner."

Beyond the fact that being Gay is not a sin, these wolves in sheep's clothing hate Gay people too, and to ignore that fact diminishes the realization of the tremendous harm that homophobic clergy and their followers have done to Gay people, their families, and to society at large as partly seen in our ever-increasing coarsening of the culture.

And when LGBT people and allies finally marshal enough strength of will to put pressure on such organizations as the Human Rights Campaign to become more aggressive, coordinate meaningful grassroots activism against homophobia whenever and wherever it occurs, Gay people will no longer be considered the "safe" targets the in-group can persecute.

Then, the in-group will hunt around and find another "enemy" to construct, another out-group, to continue to meet their perceived needs that discriminating against LGBT people have hitherto afforded them.

But, at least, when that day occurs, we can expect there to be far fewer Gay lives lived in desperation; far fewer Gay suicides; far fewer assaults against Gay people; far fewer murders of Gay people. And, Gay people will be afforded the same dignity and civil and sacramental rights afforded to all other citizens.

And if these goals are not worth meaningfully and aggressively fighting for, I don't know what is!

I am so surprise by how close the Democratic Primary in New Hampshire was , and it was in the favor of Sen. Hillary Clinton. The polls was saying that it would be a huge margin for Obama, but that was not the case. Sen.Clinton was the comeback girl on the Democratic side of the primary. As for the GOP, congrats to the Sen.John McCain, but on this site it's all about the Democratic side of things in the 2008 election.

The Next President and Iowa Predictions!!!

We are a little over a hour away to the first contest for the race to the White House, and the Iowa Caucuses are almost here.

I have made a decision of who I'm supporting in the Presidential Primaries this month, and that candidate is Sen. Barack Obama. Yes, it was tough, and I was going back and forth between Hillary and Obama. If Obama doesn't get the Democratic Nomination, then it's without doubt Hillary Clintion will have my support in the general election.

In my view, Sen.Obama will bring change in Washingtion for America, and we need it. Obama has alot of support: Oprah, independents who want big change like me, young democrats, and african-american support which is increasing.

Sen.Obama's record on gay rights is passable, and it will do, even though fellow blogger and Guest blogger Jerry Manker argues that LGBT people should support Democratic white house hopefuls like Congressman Dennis Kucinich who supports full marriage equality. While I understand and agree with his argument, I still favor Obama. If Dennis doesn't make the 15% mark, he has told his supporter to support Obama, and that may help Obama tonight.

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. We are just days before the end of the year 2007. Due to my unexpected illness, I was unable to do any posting or updates.

This was very unexpected, since I was baking and doing a little cooking on Christmas Eve till 1 a.m. At that late hour, it really hit me with possibly a virus going around. I'm a little bit better today though.

I should be back to updating and posting tomorrow. There is some interesting things going on, a possible scandal, 2008 plans, and 2008 primaries coming up.

Speaking of 2008 primaries. I plan on announcing a candidate i plan on supporting and voting for this primary and presidential 2008 election. I plan on posting it by Friday, or Monday day before New Year's day. I will say this it will NOT be any candidate from the GOP clown car, as fellow blender Pam says. So it will not be a republican, it's down to the democrats.

It's going to one or the other? That's right, Hillary or Obama. It's tough, but i may have made my decision. I'm high on women's rights, and equal-footing with men when it comes to Hillary. For Obama, he shows me he has a vision for America, and gives his supporters hope. I'll tell you this, he would be so much better than current President Bush. Bush has 12 months left, don't let the door hit you, i hope it does, and give that old a** a good hit.

Back to Obama, he has what it take, despite all the claims he's inexperience. On gay civil rights, both Hillary and Obama are pretty even. So if one gets in office, and we have a Democratic Congress, which we will, expect the hate crimes bill and EDNA to pass and become law. Both hate crimes bill and EDNA are two important pieces of legislation that needs to be pass and end this nonsense of debate. The only ones arguing against are the ones who need so one to beat on in America. Since women, blacks, and Jews are a no-no. Then the gays, and transgenders are fair game.

On Marriage Equality, both Obama and Hillary are supporting civil unions as equal to marriage, but it's not. It's close to the concept of marriage, but it's not enough for me, so I'll deal with this political strategy for the time being. When it comes to Civil rights, our executive, and legislative branches always stall on social issues as this. So it only takes the U.S Supreme court to get involve, but due to Bush appointing conservative Justices, there's not enough votes, probably just 3 0r 4 the most. So this next election is important, with a Democrat in office you can expect a U.S Justice to get the job through a regular process, instead the last two being supported by major religious right leaders as Godly appointments. Pa-leeze, religion is starting to become a addiction, that really needs some help.

A Holiday Return for Justice MH!!!

It's time for Christmas already, and I feel like i don't even want gifts. I guess when you get older you get out of:"I want presents".

B. Scott Talks About The Gays In The Church (lovebscott.com)

B.Scott in his latest video talks about gays in the church. This subject is so interesting, and certainly not old.

Gays are everywhere, even in the church. From the preacher to the deacon, to the choir director to the usher, and the church memeber.

Homosexuality just as heterosexuality is present in the church, families, choirs, and many communities. In fact, it's been here as long as humans been here.

The whole Donnie McClurkin situation is old, but still a big issue. I agree with B.Scott, he was gay before his abuse, and that's our view.

Another thing, people always say God can do anything. Yes, I know God can do anything. But God will undo what God has done in the first place. Fact is, sexual orientation has not been proven to be changable, and that's a fact. The whole Ex-gay industry is base on base-less science, and dogmatic religious views.

So like B.Scott said: One a gay, always a gay!!!

700 Club:Fundamentalists claim I-35 Can Stop Homosexuality and other things!!!

From the video Author:A report on Pat Robertson's 700 Club describes a supposed prophecy that is being fulfilled through the interstate highway system. A youth-oriented group is allegedly harnessing the power of I-35 to "heal" gays.

Is it just me or is fundamentalist christians and fundamentalist period are getting nutter? Is must be just me. The bible verse is kindy far-fetch if you ask me when refering to I-35.

Well, I-35 refers to (supposedly) to Isaiah, Chapter 35. Verse 8 states: 8

And a highway will be there;
it will be called the Way of Holiness.
The unclean will not journey on it;
it will be for those who walk in that Way;
wicked fools will not go about on it.

Now the verse above isn't clear that it refers to I-35, it's simply not a clear interpretation. Another example on how many christians take bible verses out of context, especial historical and cultural context!

It's no surprise their harassing gays outside a gay bar, and claiming in the video that all of sudden just because they touch somebody their no longer gay? Sounds something like Ted Haggard story to me.

If the laying on hands work, well what about the other gays there, or did the power all of sudden dry up from only person? Stories like this always sound like full of holes, and just bizarre!

Pat Robertson enjoyed every minute of it and said he loves stories. I love stories, and I really mean stories!

2007's World HIV/AIDS Day!!!

I know I'm late talking about World Aids Day 2007, but I wanted to write something before the weekend of World AIDS day is over. This disease is a world crisis that affects everyone from straight to gay, young to old, babies to children, and many races.

The HIV/AIDS epidemic began early in 1981. The month July of that year, the New York Times reported an outbreak of a rare form of cancer among gay men in New York and California. This "gay cancer" as it was called at the time was later identified as Kaposi's Sarcoma, a disease that later became the face of AIDS. But as you will see everything is not as it seems.

When the Centers for Disease Control reported the new outbreak they called it "GRID" (gay-related immune deficiency), stigmatizing the gay community as carriers of this deadly disease. Then there were cases that started to be seen in heterosexuals, drug addicts, and people who received blood transfusions, proving the virus/disease knew no boundaries. Now, it's no longer a so=called "GRID", the disease doesn't have any boundaries, or favorite group of people it attacks with illness.

HIV/AIDS here longer than 25 years???

HIV/AIDS is being said to be 25 years old, but it has been reported to be here longer than that.It is believed that the syndrome[AIDS] has been around far longer. In 1959, a man residing in Africa died of a mysterious illness. Only decades later, after examining some blood samples taken from that man, was it confirmed that he actually died from complications related to an HIV infection.

Now the question is how it enter in America? The fact is gays have already been here in America, so that base-less assumption is ridiculous and bizarre! Some researchers say a immigrant from another country may have brought it into the country?

So where did HIV/AIDS come from and it's origins? Experts have concluded that HIV has it origins in the jungles of Africa among wild chimps. Experts go on to report that evidence suggests that the simian form of HIV (SIV) entered the human species and became HIV by way of monkey bites or ingesting monkey meat and brains. While the origins of HIV are more clear,the thing is pointing fingers at the gay community, and saying that community is the source, has no research or evidence to back that hypothesis up. It is NO theory! Which brings me to address a certain blogger: The Captain

He says:WHY WOULD ANYONE EMBRACE A LIFESTYLE THAT WILL MORE THAN LIKELY HAND YOU A DEATH SENTENCE IN BEING INFECTED WITH HIV/AIDS?

Justice MH: Well, why would anyone embrace the lifestyle of a heterosexual, drug addict, or get a blood transfusion that can give HIV/AIDS? You see, your ignorance is no longer amusing, but pathetic , and just plain sad. Do you ask heterosexual this question? Oh yeah, you keep pointing fingers at the gay community. Well its thinking like that which enables the disease to spread if everyone is NOT making sure their behaviors are safe. Since putting the information in the early eighties that it was a white gay male disease: heterosexuals both black and white, also black gays believe this, and didn't take caution in their own behaviors. Like Queer kid of Color says: Responsibility is prevention of HIV/AIDS.

He gave another comment without a comment forum, what a coward:

It is amazing how homosexuals glamorize the gay lifestyle as something wonderful and grand when in reality, HIV/AIDS is the core of the gay community. I hear various gay activists trying to shift the focus of HIV/AIDS away from the gay community so they won't look like the culprits, but unfortunately people know the real truth. Now, the epidemic have spreaded in our heterosexual community, all to the thanks of the gay community.

If God really created and blessed homosexuality as an orientation that is acceptable and worthwhile then we wouldn't have sorrow and death. I don't care how many ways you try to slice and dice to justify homosexuality is right, if it was, then HIV/AIDS would not be killing our men and women off due to an filthy and perverse sexual choice, which is the largest driver of this infection growth. If sorrow comes with it, God never blessed it!

Justice MH: This whole comment is simply bias, ignorant, and full of mean-spirited as usual! No one that I know of is trying to shift the focus of HIV/AIDS, but it's not a gay thing. Culprits??? We have nothing to hide, and we're blame-less, so say what you want. What real truth is this? A bull-shitted truth. The heterosexual community started their own infection rate, unless their sleeping with gay males. It takes two to tangle, not a population of people with a different sexual orientation. God created homosexuality and it's blessed, no-matter how much you and other use narrow bible interpretations, a book that known to have errors, contradictions, and inconsistencies. Homosexuality has always been right, it's just those like you and sects of religions that try to prove it's wrong, and trying to use a imperfect holy books as a mouth piece for God. It's your only tool to make your opinions and views as facts. Which their not. Heterosexuals already have high rate base around the world, so is that a perverse sexual choice? Using HIV/AIDS as your argument is very poor in reason. It's your view that God never bless it, and it's bless regardless of what you say. So in the word of my friend and a woman I admire: Kiss off!

Remember everyone be responsible, and safe in this epidemic.

Filmmaker Morgan Jon Fox has released an extended preview for the feature-length documentary, “This Is What Love In Action Looks Like.” Video above.

According to the filmmaker:

In the summer of 2005, a 16-year-old from Memphis, Tenn., wrote on his MySpace blog about his parents sending him to a “Fundamentalist Christian” program that claimed to offer “freedom from homosexuality.” What followed is a modern-day message in a bottle, as teen-agers in the local community stood up for their friend with daily protests which eventually grew to include a plethora of individuals demonstrating at the facility in what would become an international news story.

The documentary features several former clients of the organization who tell their personal stories about the time they spent within the programs walls, including exclusive never before seen interviews with several teenagers who were forced into the “Refuge” program

Justice MH: I don't know why right-wing groups like Focus on the Family think in their mind all gays need is love, and the gay will just go away. The video gives a view of what kind of love is in action when trying help gay and lesbians change their change their sexual orientation, which is unsuccessful and hasn't been proven.

The sad thing about love in action is it gives guilt to the parents, and that is wrong on so many levels. Just because you have a gay son or daughter does not mean the parent made a mistake or did anything wrong in their child's life. The Parent argument, especially the mother, it is getting old, lame, and there is no scientific proof of what "love in action" says. I can't wait for the documentary, and try my best to find the love. But then again, what's love got to do with it?

This Is What Love In Action Looks Like will premiere in February 2008.

Judgement Day:Intelligent Design onTrial!!!

I have to say the Intelligent Design on Trial documentary is great, and I would watch it again.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet.

Intelligent Design does NOT belong in the science classroom. Intelligent Design is NOT science. It is simply religion being mask under science, and no one is fool by this.

Now you don't have to believe in Evolution, but you have to learn it to pass the Biology course.

Intelligent Design is just a way to get religion in public schools, and the people of Dover did NOT want that. This is a controversy issue, but the separation of church and state must be protected and secured.

Again, Science class is about science concepts, ideas, and theories. It is not about religious concepts, ideas or theories. Let's keep it at that.

This is a new monthly post I'm starting. This post will focus on WWE's monthly or every 3 week PPV. I have been a fan of wrestling for almost 8 years, and still loving it, even though wwe make stupid decision as in matches and storylines.

Moving on....... It's been ten years since the ever famous Montreal Screw job between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart! Will Tonight's Survivor Series top that Main Event? I doubt it, but it will give us some moments to remember for years to come or a few days depending on how the show goes. By looking at the card, my predictions make be correct by luck, it's like a who's who on the card tonight. The two world title match seem like a toss-up, a clear winner can not been seen for the world or wwe title. I'm loving unpredictable matches tonight. This match is NOT a elimination match like the traditional 10-man match, but it should be good. It has the eye candy, and some of the divas in this match can wrestle. Let me say the women's champion Beth Pheonix has been dominating the women's divison on monday night raw. The Glamzon ain't no joke. Her team has the women who can wrestle like Jillian, melina, and victoria. Sorry, but Layla can not wrestle, she working on it, but she a long way to go. Team Mickie James along with Michelle will carry the team. Regardless, I see The Glamazon's team winning tonight. Her team has wrestling skills, experience, and strength.

Hornswoggle vs. The Great Khali

The Match of the night??? I don't think so, I know so is the better way to put it. They want to me to pay $40 for this??? Don't think so! I don't know where wwe is going with this. Why put a 7'3 giant against a 4 something little man??? I think wwe want the fans to think it's going to be a squash, so somebody or something will help Hornswoggle get the win. So I'm using logic and reason for this one.

World Tag Team Championship: Cade & Murdoch[c] vs. Rhodes & Holly

My gut feeling here is a title change, and the belts are to hardcore holly and Cody rodes. After cade and mourdoch lost to Batista and taker on raw this past Monday, and the build up of the tough team of Rhodes and holly, something is going to happen here. I say we're going to have new tag champs here!

Triple Threat Match for the ECW Championship – CM Punk vs. John Morrison vs. The Miz

Ok, after this past friday night on smackdown, the winner is clear here: CM Punk wins and retains. The reason is Morrison and the Miz won the Smackdown Tag team belts. The wwe will not put second title on either on them. I don't see it happening, but then again it could. I'm sticking with what I said: CM Punk retain the title.

Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match – Triple H, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Kane and Rey Mysterio vs. Umaga, Mr. Kennedy….Kennedy, Finlay, MVP, and Bid Daddy V

Ok, this one seems easily to predict, so I see Triple H's team winning. I see Triple H and Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio has the final three left or down to either of them as the last superstar to survive. Umaga's team is strong, but I don't see them winning or wwe could let the heels win this year. Damn, that could happen, but I will play it safe and pick.........

WWE Championship Match- Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels

The ten year anniversary of Vince McMahon screwing Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels was in that main-event match. Some say Vince McMachon is going to do the very same thing to HBK by ringing the bell too soon, and giving Orton the win, but what if it’s Shawn Michaels and Vince that screw Randy Orton for the WWE Title??? I can see that happen, and totally heel turn for HBK and a face turn for Orton. Shawn Michaels has the major build up with the interview in the newspapers and online. But I'm playing it safe, and I'll pick Orton to retain the title.

World Heavyweight Champion Batista vs. Undertaker - Hell in a Cell Match

AH yes, the Main Event. It's Hell in Cell, and this match has history in it. I know that this match will close the show as the Main Event, and it deserves it. Batista and Undertaker's feud is the feud of the year. Edge is suppose to return tonight, so we could see a interference from him. I want Undertaker to win, but it doesn't look like it, not at this time. Edge is the wild card, but Batista could pull off like he did at Cyber Sunday last month. However, this is Hell in Cell and this is Undetaker's match. Again, My mind is on Edge, he may be a piece to the puzzle on who will win this match. I'm going with Batista to retain the title with Edge's help or by himself, but a Undertaker win in Hell in a Cell would not surprise me at all!!!

Justice MH's Final Thoughts: Ok, this is my first prediction post, and there will be more. I also will start maybe reviewing the weekly show Friday Night Smackdown every week. So I haven't decided if I will order the PPV. Is this card worth $40? Something tell me no, and try the next PPV next month Armageddon! There's a couple of hours left till the show. I might change my mind or just keep myself updated on it, and then I could watch it for free. So the cards looks good, and I expect a great show!

"'Whether their sexual preference is to be a homosexual or being gay, that's their problem,' Da' Priest says. 'I'm the street, I'm the street priest, and I have real good Christian values on what I believe in, and I am against homosexuality.'" from Npr.org

I never heard of Dooney Da Priest, a songwriter! However, his above statement is crucial for every single decent person, and for everyone who considers him/herself to be a Christian, to read and understand.

Christianity has become defined in the minds of most people as being not only a judgmental religion, but the rhetoric, actions and/or silence and inaction on the part of all too many professing Christians and clergy has had the effect of equating being "Gay" with being "immoral" in the minds of others, including many, if not most, LGBT people.

The mantra that being Gay is equivalent to being immoral, and is against the will of God, has been spewed so often in and from most churches, and is believed by most clergy and church-goers within the institutional Church, that one can not only believe that lie, but one can feel free to hawk his/her "Christian" credentials by affirming his/her disdain for homosexuality; so many professing Christians can justify to others their homophobia by appealing to the fact that they are "Bible-believing Christians."

As you well know, I lay the lion's share of the blame for homophobia and its destructive consequences at the feet of the institutional Church! It has been responsible for untold suicides, bashings, and murders; it has been responsible for lives lived in quiet and not so quiet desperation; it has been responsible for fracturing families as well as fracturing human beings within their families.

As I've written:

"Make no mistake, every drop of blood shed by GLBT people either through suicide, bashing, or murder, are on the hands of all those religious leaders, their followers, and their allies who spew forth their ignorance, prejudice, and hate against GLBT people and their relationships! These wolves in sheep’s clothing take the Bible, God’s love letter to His children, and selectively and perversely use it as a club to condemn others, and deny GLBT people full inclusion in the Church and in society.

"The tradition-bound parts of the Church have so indoctrinated people, many of whom have never even set foot in a house of worship, that many people even disown their own children when they 'come out' and divulge their sexual orientation to those whom they thought unconditionally loved and cherished them. There are many children living on the streets because their own parents trusted ignorant clergy and their followers over their God-given duty and privilege to nurture and embrace their own children!

The Church should concentrate on the real sins that deserve our attention and that cry out to God for redress, such as invading another country on false pretenses; the working poor who can't afford medical insurance; the Supreme Court ruling that people can't sue their insurance company in state court for denying needed medical services; many elderly people having to decide whether to buy food or medicine; the gigantic rip off perpetrated by drug companies, hospitals, and the medical establishment on sick and vulnerable people. Why not focus on and address issues such as these, instead of obsessing on who loves who and who sleeps with whom? Such obsession tells us much more about the pathetic and moribund state of much of the Church than it does about the reality of the lives of GLBT people".

To the degree that any professing Christian can keep silent in the face of the grinding oppression and destruction of others, it is to that degree that he/she had better examine his/her claim to being a "Christian!"

Recently, on Fox's Mike and Juliet Show, ex-gay activist Alan Chambers called homosexuality "empty" and said that he "left homosexuality" because it was for the young - and that one day he'd be too old and bald to live open and honestly.

The truth is, the only thing "empty" is Mr. Chambers' shallow rhetoric. His organization, Exodus, often resorts to scare tactics and flat out lies to recruit new victims. This Truth Wins Out video challenges Alan Chambers and sets the record straight[no pun intended].

Justice MH: Let me add my 1.00 worth of wisdom and commentary. It's really sad Alan thinks age will make you fear and go straight. How desperate can you be to get new recruitments? 'Ex-Gay' Rubber Band Therapy Doesn't Work

The world's largest ex-gay organization, Exodus International tells clients to wear a rubber band on their wrist and snap it when they see someone attractive of the same sex. In this Truth Wins Out PSA, a survivor of rubber band "therapy," Brian Nesbitt, discusses his experience.

Here is what Exodus instructs its clients to do:

"Every time you catch yourself watching someone erotically or engaging in fantasy, snap the band. This will cause a moderate stinging pain, which serves as a shocking reminder of what you are doing. This should help you interrupt the spell."

Ex-gay Donnie McClurkin: "God delivered me from homosexuality"???

Now I'm looking at the headline, and see it's the same of old recipe for self-loathing gays! Ex-gay Donnie McClurkin attended Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s gospel concert in South Carolina this weekend, and decided to not only sing, but turn this spiritual gospel tour into a platform for the ex-gay myth and the pray away the gay myth!

CNN Transcript of Donnie McClurkin: “Jesus came for everybody. And God has called us to love everybody. Now don’t believe everybody tries to vilify a folk just to make another man’s campaign look bad. We believe that everybody should have the same rights. But there’s right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. [to audience] I don’t hear nobody here. We don’t believe in discrimination, we don’t believe in hatred. [to audience] I don’t hear anybody here. And if you do, you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. That’s the whole premise of God, that’s the whole premise of Christ–is Love Love Love. But there is a side of Christ that deals in judgement. And ALL sin, is against God. Even hypocrisy in the church, especially hypocrisy in the church.

Hallelujah. Everybody sittin’ here with baited breath wondering where I’m goin’ go next. Well, let’s make this plain. Let’s make this plain. Don’t call me a bigot, or anti-gay, when I have been touched with the same feelings. When I have suffered with the same feelings. Don’t call me a homophobe, when I love everybody. And that means I’m afraid, phobia means I’m afraid, I’m not afraid of anybody. Because greater is He that is in me. Many pro-tolerance advocates and myself have said we do NOT object to Donnie's choice to to identify as ex-gay and to refrain from homosexual behavior. They object because McClurkin:

1.told The 700 Club — a Christian media outlet — that same-sex-attracted persons are child-killers and vowed to wage “war” — not peace nor Christian outreach — against gay people

2.mischaracterizes his ongoing sexual attraction to men as if it were fully overcome and declines to discuss his lack of significant attraction to women

3.asserts that because a handful of individuals with unstable or fluid sexual attraction claim to change, anyone can do it!

Also, Obama tried to help the situation by having a gay pastor open the concert with a prayer, however it was not a black gay pastor or affirming black pastor, but a white gay pastor! According to CNN’s Political Ticker blog, Sidden appeared only briefly at the concert, before much of the audience had even arrived, and refrained from mentioning sexuality.

South Carolina African-American gay activist Alvin McEwen attended a small protest outside the concert and wrote his observations:

"No matter how many times it was emphasized that none of us care about McClurkin’s personal decisions regarding his orientation, folks have continued to claim that we are angry at McClurkin’s belief that he is “ex-gay” rather than his statements against the lgbt community".

Justice MH's Final Thoughts: Many and so have I that we do NOT have anything against Donnie for his choice to identify as ex-gay, and refrain from homosexual behavior! Now these are my deeper views and a closer look into his testimony. Donnie gave the same ole' "God delivered me from homosexuality" speech! Biblical deliverance is from something demonic controlling a person. Is Donnie saying his attractions and desires are from demons[demonic forces]? Now let me say I do NOT believe in demons, nor do they exist! So why in the year 2007 not 207 A.D, we have blind faithful religious people still believing in ancient fears and superstitious? It's amazing because there is NO proof of demons, but the Catholic Church still believes in this nonsense! Most likely to keep catholics in fear and unnecessary superstitious ways.

Back to Donnie, he told the crowd to not believe the blogs, but believe the bible. I kindy laugh a little at that. Don't ask, I laugh at about everything. Anyway, Donnie must be talking about that unknown ex-lover he had back in the mid 2002-2004! He recently came forward on
clay cane's blog! It appears Donnie has enter his closet, in the dark, and can't find the door knob! Do I believe Donnie about God supposedly delivering him? Ummm, most likely no! I think he's now celibate. Think about it: No wife, kids, or even a girlfriend! He's 49, i think. Damn Donnie, at least fool me about your sexuality. Am I upset about him no-longer acting on his same-sex attraction or maybe in private to become attracted to the opposite? No, I am not upset at all! I respect it, and wish the best. God is love, and it doesn't and shouldn't matter who we love. So Donnie shouldn't turn this concert into a platform to make it known he's ex-gay, and doesn't act on the attractions! All I can do is wish the best for him! I still support Sen. Obama, and he most likely has my vote over Sen.Clinton in the Georgia Primary!

'The View' on the Ex-gay Donnie McCLurkin situation!!!

The ladies on the View tackled the issue about ex-gay Donnie McClurkin and it's particpation in the gospel tour for Democratic White house hopeful Sen. Barack Obama!

As usual Whoopi is pro-gay, and Sherri always shows her true conservative colors.

However I need to take a closer look at this. The lovely ladies are just misinform about Donnie. They should have done more research, hell google him!

I agree with Jeremy at Goodas you.org and how he puts it:

For it's not that he merely that he identifies as an "ex-gay" or that he says it's a "choice" that is causing controversy. It's instead that for the past few years, he has identified as quite the anti-gay. So shame on the gabby gals for not learning more facts before delving into this arena.

But beyond lack of research as to what McClurkin has actually done, there are two matters for discussion that we see in the vid:

(1) Is Whoopi saying she agrees that being gay is a "choice," or merely that she agrees people should be free to their privacy in terms of their personal life.

(2) Is Sherri seriously using words like "struggle" to talk about homosexuality, and likening that particular characteristic to things like promiscuity?
Now, we're going to give Whoopster the benefit of the doubt because (a) she's always been good on gay rights, and (b) there is room to assume that she was agreeing about one's right to keep their private life private, and not that being gay is a "choice." If her mind is that made up about the ability for one to pick and choose their orientation, then we do take issue with that. But from just this one comment, we can't be sure.

As for Sherri Shepherd, however -- what the hell?!?! We don't "struggle," Sherri. And our "manifestations" are not to be likened to things like promiscuity, which is a concept that exists in both orientations. We are human beings, not a set of trauma-induced traits! So how about instead of just accepting whatever anyone tells you in terms of nature vs. nurture, you look at some research, the evidence around you, and proceed to form your own "view" about the gay men and women who populate your world! Casual acceptance of the idea that "ex-gay" and "gay" claims hold equal merit is what that movement relies on.

You, Sherri, would surely view a claim that you are choosing not to "struggle" with heterosexuality with a (rightfully) skeptical eye. You owe it to your gay brothers and sisters to extend the same courtesy.

Justice MH: I agree with the above statements! Whoopi and sherri should study up stuff before talking about an issue, especially a gay isse. Damn, Oprah almost always gets it! Lastly, I'm have to keep a eye on Ms.Sherri, those conservative leanings do not make her look good.

NBJC/HRC and Obama: Also Gay Pastor to open Gospel tour Shows!!!

It looks like this ain't over by a long shot. Something has to give! The National Black Justice Coaltion is already trying to set up a talk or meeting with Obama on black LGBTs concerns with inviting reclosted homosexual Donnie McClurkin! HRC has a press release out with HRC's Joe Solmonese on a phone call with Sen.Obama:

“I spoke with Sen. Barack Obama today and expressed to him our community’s disappointment for his decision to continue to remain associated with Rev. McClurkin, an anti-gay preacher who states the need to ‘break the curse of homosexuality.’ There is no gospel in Donnie McClurkin’s message for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. That’s a message that certainly doesn’t belong on any Presidential candidate’s stage.”

“I did thank him for announcing he would be adding an openly gay minister as part of the tour and for his willingness to call on religious leaders to open a dialogue about homophobia. We hope that Sen. Obama will move forward and facilitate face to face meetings with religious leaders, like Rev. McClurkin, and the GLBT community to confront the issue of homophobia.”
“We also call on all of the Presidential campaigns to look within their ranks of supporters and make the same commitment to engage in a dialogue among differing views around issues of equality and fairness for our community.”
Rev. McClurkin, an “ex-gay” gospel singer and minister who has called homosexuality a “curse”, has repeatedly stated his opposition to homosexuality as being against “the intention of God.”
On August 9, Sen. Obama joined the leading Democratic presidential candidates in addressing issues important to the GLBT community at the Logo/HRC Foundation presidential forum in Los Angeles. Justice MH: Now let me say: I don't believe in curses especially gays ones, or demons especially gay demons or spirits.

[Update]: Obama's team has their gay pastor to open his gospel shows. To be honest here I don't know anything about this man, here's his church bio:

Justice MH: This might help, but then again it could be a failure. Obama should have a more modern advance staff that knows about gay issues. I also like to point out is there no one on his staff that couldn't yahoo search or google supposely deliver Donnie McClurkin? This is a no win-win situation for Obama. I can look and get pass this if only Donnie just sings, and just sing. I agree with blender Pam : "For those of us who are black and gay, we're watching to see who has our back. Too often, it's no one". I agree that this was a mistake on Obama's team, so to LGBTs: don't be so quick to judge!

Ex-Gay Randy Thomas oppose Non-Discrimination Act!!!

Professsional Ex-gay Randy Thomas is [no surprise] opposing potential laws like ENDA to help stop bias in the work place. Also many conservative used Professional ex-gays like Randy thomas to prove gays can change their sexual orientation, but there is no proof for that, and randy is NO walking miracle.

Randy of course contradicts himself, he says we[gays] deserve dignity, and respect, but no right to keep our job just for being gay. I and many other have challenge many conservatives and right-wing groups/people to give three good reason why it shouldn't be law. There is already a exception for religion, so what are their three good reasons? I haven't seen any yet. All i've seen were silly statments falling out their mouth. Again, they can't even come up with good reasons.

Now how could I forget homobigot Bishop Harry Jackson. As you seen above, he's hosting the conference. Now the thing that strikes me odd about him being there is he said the National Black Justice Coaltion's Church Summit that he want to protect marraige. Like Larry King said: " how can you protect marriage from people who want to get married"?

Anyway, the reason I brought this up is he's now opposing EDNA and hate crime legislation. He gives incorrect reasons like his white conservative counterparts do. Like I said I'm surprise to see him. Bishop Jackson's hate crusade is now clearly seen by many black LGBTs and just LGBTs period.

The Religious right knows very well that the more pro-gay laws pass will not be good for their war on gays, and it will eventually no one else to pick on, and hate on. They know this. So they lie, and bear false witness. This all the more reason why EDNA and the recently pass hate crimes measure from Congress must become law. They already feel like we're so powerful, and their the victims? Yeah, right! So this all the more reason why sooner than later EDNA and the Matthew Shepard Act will become law! Bush will not be there to save them always! They know this. These new laws are coming, you ready?

Barack Obama teams with Ex-gay Donnie McClurkin: More homophobes on tour, and responses from Donnie and Obama!!!

I'm running real late on this story. I have been hearing about it all day, and I felt i need to add my two cents. So it's already been confirm that Democratic White House hopeful Sen. Barack Obama has decided to have a gospel tour with reclosted homosexual Donnie McClurkin.

Here's the release:All three of the dates of the “Embrace the Change” tour are in South Carolina, where Mr. Obama is locked in battle with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for black voters.

Gospel acts including Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin and Hezekiah Walker, Byron Cage and the Mighty Clouds of Joy are scheduled to appear.

“This is another example of how Barack Obama is defying conventional wisdom about how politics is done and giving new meaning to meeting people at the grassroots level,” Joshua DuBois, the campaign’s religious affairs director, said in a release. “This concert tour is going to bring new people into the political process and engage people of faith in an unprecedented way.”

Donnie is on record for saying sexual orientation is choice, also says you can pray the gay away. Donnie goes even lower with comparing gays to liars!

Heres a few quotes:McClurkin explains, "There are certain things like, you know, anybody who has a lying problem; they get to the point where they hate being so, having such a lack of character that they make a change."

In the same interview, McClurkin argues again that homosexuality is simply a lifestyle choice. "There's a group that says, 'God made us this way,' but then there's another group that knows God didn't make them that way," he says. Notice the circularity in his rhetoric. The people who say that God made them gay don't know what they're talking about because the people who say God did not make them gay are right. Well how do they know if someone was born gay or not if they are not gay themselves? It's insulting and presumptuous of others to tell gays and lesbians that they're not smart enough even to know who they are.

Just for the record Donnie is still unmarried, and he has church called Perfecting Faith Church in New York. Donnie is a Bush supporter. Many have said since Donnie performed and support Republican like President Bush, why is he performing for a Democrat? That's a answer only Donnie can give you. Donnie argues that us the gays who say that God made us with our sexual orientation is liars. I can only say that Donnie doesn't know what he's talking about at all! He claims to be deliver, but still single, and unmarried. I wonder why? Surely if you're deliver, then you should be able to function as a heterosexual, right?

There are more homophobes on this tour like gospel group Mary Mary (Erica and Tina Atkins), their confirm for the tour. Here's their quotes on how they feel about gays with comparing us to murderers and prostitutes, a Clay Cane interview:

They have issues and need someone to encourage them like everybody else -- just like the murderer, just like the one full of pride, just like the prostitute -- everybody needs God. What your struggle is may not be what my struggle is, but we all need Him. So, that's what our music is about giving and God, not to condone the lifestyle or to say, Oh it's okay, but not to bash -- but just to give them God. I mean, I’m appreciative of all of our supporters and fans. Hopefully what their hearing in our music is my love for God.

Tina: You know, I think the fact that our music is very upbeat and works well in clubs -- you know, I think that's something that makes more people gravitate to it. Like Erica said, we don’t necessarily agree with the lifestyle, but we don’t pride ourselves on bashing. Everyone has things in their life that they need to correct, everybody has struggles, everybody has things that, maybe I should’ve done it this way, maybe I should’ve made this choice, you know, or whatever. Even though that's the way we feel, we don’t bash, we don’t do that kind of thing and we embrace everybody who enjoys our music. Hopefully our music is impacting them in a way that if they see there's some things in their life that's not quite right and doesn’t align themselves with what the Bible says -- hopefully our music impacts them in a way that makes them want to change it.

So they feel how God feels right? As my friend Jerry said: The bible is NOT God! Too many contradictions to be on God's level!

Donnie McClurkin responds with some back-tracking on his beliefs: Gospel music superstar Donnie McClurkin says he was surprised to wake up Tuesday morning to a media firestorm.

... McClurkin told The Associated Press on Monday that "sexuality, everything is a matter of choice." But on Tuesday he told the Tribune that his ideals, and most importantly his ministry, were severely misconstrued.
"I don't believe that even from a religious point of view that Jesus ever discriminated toward anyone, nor do I," McClurkin said in an exclusive interview with the Tribune. "Most of the things that were said were totally out of context and then other things weren't true."

Ok, Donnie do you know what you said in the past? Like here:McClurkin has devoted his life to saving children from the cult-like snares of the homosexual recruiters. "The gloves are off," he told the 700 Club. "And if there's going to be a war, there's going to be a war."

Donnie seems to have forgotten his quotes of the past. Obama issued his thoughts early this evening:

About 6:40 pm today, the Obama campaign issued a written statement from the candidate saying that he "strongly disagree(s)" with McClurkin's views. Still, a spokesman said McClurkin would remain part of the concert line-up.

"I have clearly stated my belief that gays and lesbians are our brothers and sisters and should be provided the respect, dignity, and rights of all other citizens. I have consistently spoken directly to African-American religious leaders about the need to overcome the homophobia that persists in some parts our community so that we can confront issues like HIV/AIDS and broaden the reach of equal rights in this country," Obama said in the written statement.

"I strongly believe that African Americans and the LGBT community must stand together in the fight for equal rights. And so I strongly disagree with Reverend McClurkin's views and will continue to fight for these rights as President of the United States to ensure that America is a country that spreads tolerance instead of division," the statement added.

Justice MH: I feel that Obama should have been smarter with who he wanted on this gospel tour in South Carolina. Who ever is on his campaign staff needs to be fired. This is forgivable, but i have to admit, it has push me some towards Hillary Clinton. I bet she having a ball watching this happen to obama. Obama still has me on the fence, I just hope next time think who before you invited those who inaccurate views on your supporters. Obama has what it takes to be President, and yes Captain, Obama will be President some day in the future. I hope this comes out in best interest of Obama's chances of becoming the Democratic nominee!

Just my two-cents worth, but this study goes along perfectly and supports what most gay men have known for centuries, that, most homophobes are actually closet homosexuals fighting against the religious and societal pressures and prejudices inside themselves they grew up with. This knowledge has not come to us homosexuals through studies or even "gaydar" but from countless sexual experiences with closeted gays and homophobes. Some of us do talk after sex. :0)

The beauty of this documentary is that it gives insight into the hearts and minds of those who express moral outrage at homosexuality, their secret participation in same-gender sex, and their denial of their tendencies.

The point of posting this video is to get homophobes and those outraged by homosexuality to stop and think about what they may be in fact projecting when they go gay bashing, whether it be in word or deed.

Justice MH's Final Thoughts: I truly feel that with religion and majority of society demonizing same-sex attractions/desires makes people hate, fear and possibly leads to other destructive/outrageous behaviors to hide their same-sex tendencies. This leads to denial, rage, hate, fear, and the need to suppress openly gays to keep their same-gender attractions and desires lock up. Take for example Sen.Larry Craig, he engage in bathroom sex cruising, and voted against the hate crimes[matthew Shepard Act]. These type of sexually conflicted people you see are by-products of dogma from religion, and bias attitudes from society!

USA Survey/New Book: Cafeteria Evangelical Christians running Youth away from Christianity!!!

Since I'm part of the next generation, it's no surprise to see my generation question the dogma churches try to feed youth today. This study was done by Barna Study Group, and the group is widely quoted by conservative christian groups, groups like AFA to news sources like OneNewsNow. Young people are taking a good look at Christianity, and groups like AFA make this great faith look bad. Young people see it as i do, judgmental, hypocritical, and anti-gay! Take a look at a summary of the report:

A new study by The Barna Group conducted among 16- to 29-year-olds shows that a new generation is more skeptical of and resistant to Christianity than were people of the same age just a decade ago.

...Half of young churchgoers said they perceive Christianity to be judgmental, hypocritical, and too political. One-third said it was old-fashioned and out of touch with reality.

Interestingly, the study discovered a new image that has steadily grown in prominence over the last decade. Today, the most common perception is that present-day Christianity is "anti-homosexual." Overall, 91% of young non-Christians and 80% of young churchgoers say this phrase describes Christianity. As the research probed this perception, non-Christians and Christians explained that beyond their recognition that Christians oppose homosexuality, they believe that Christians show excessive contempt and unloving attitudes towards gays and lesbians. One of the most frequent criticisms of young Christians was that they believe the church has made homosexuality a "bigger sin" than anything else. Moreover, they claim that the church has not helped them apply the biblical teaching on homosexuality to their friendships with gays and lesbians.

Justice MH: Young People are using their intellect and reason to question the dogma that brainwashes them to have negative attitudes towards gays, and they also see how judgmental and hypocritical so-called Christians make Christianity look! Christ talks alot about this, but groups like AFA feel like their hate-crusade is approve by Jesus Christ himself, which I highly doubt! Cafeteria Christians throw out ridiculous phrases like "love the sinner, but hate sin". It's time for them to repent of their sins, shape up, or ship out!It's phrases like this, that give these Christians affirmation for their negative thoughts and feelings toward their fellow man. Today's young people are smarter, it's like I said, and the christian "wrong" fear this. My generation is gonna change America, for the better!

The reason why I'm asking these question is how The View co-host Sherri Shepard answer the question of whether the earth was flat or round. Scientific research confirm it's round, and the church and the bible just got it wrong. So answer the questions above honestly!!!

U.S Senate passes Hate Crime Bill!!

The Democratic-Control Senate passed the hate crimes bill as an amendment to the Defense bill for the Iraq War. In a 60-39 vote to proceed to adoption, the Senate approved Senator Kennedy's amendment which adds sexual orientation, gender identity and disability to the existing hate crimes legislation.

Democrats in their 51 majority supported the bill. Only 9 Republicans move across the line to support the amendment.

U.S Senate expected to vote on Hate Crimes Bill this Thursday!!!

The time is here. The slim Democratic-control Senate is expected to vote on S. 1105-Matthew Shepard Act. Chris Johnson at HRC Back Story reports that Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) filed a cloture motion to force a vote on S. 1105.We need 60 votes in order to override the objection filed by Sen.John MCcain.The hate crimes bill was tacked onto the defense authorization bill to get it pass our misguided controlled President Bush.

Lead sponsor of the Senate bill, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) released a statement of his floor speech urging passage of S. 1105. I would like to note here that there are Republicans supporting this bill, not just Democrats.

As we prepare for a showdown over this bill, expect the scare tactics and nonsense from the so-called oppress Christians, who fear their rights are being taken aways.
Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson is at it again with the nonsense (where was he and his black bigoted Friends at on free Jena 6 march?). Read his latest quotes on the hate crimes bill in a bearing false witness tone/words:

A black conservative leader is calling on Christians to contact their U.S. senators and ask them to vote against a bill that would give special rights to homosexuals and take away the rights of Christians.

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson is founder and president of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND). Peterson was recently in Washington, DC, to lobby senators to vote against Senate Bill 1105 -- a bill that would provide federal assistance for the prosecution of any crime that is "motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim." The legislation is sponsored by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Massachusetts).

According to Peterson, if S.B. 1105 ultimately passes, it would greatly affect Christians' free-speech rights. For example, Peterson contends that under the new provisions, Christian pastors could be forced to perform same-sex "marriages" -- and if they refuse, Petersen is convinced they will be criminalized and fined.

Now he know he sound like a drama queen, and a lieing one at that. There many racist christian groups and white supremacist groups that still have their free speech and rights. They march in parades, and register their groups. So where is he getting this from? He has presented no where in the bill where their rights's of speech is objected.

Justice MH: These are the type of blacks, white Evangelical conservative Christians love to use for their agenda. Sylvia Rhue of the National Black Justice Coalition and Cornel West have a piece in the Boston Globe that shows how hate can be disguise in a religious sheet of hypocrisy and lies:

Unfortunately, some clergy across the nation have joined together to oppose this bill in an aggressive and divisive manner. For instance, conservative African-American leaders - most notably Bishop Harry Jackson of Maryland's Hope Christian Church - have been inundating the media and faith communities with the message that this legislation will allow police to storm into worship services and arrest clergy if they speak against being gay. They make the incendiary allegation that the bill will create "thought crimes" by punishing people for thinking ill of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

The truth is that the Matthew Shepard Act protects all First Amendment rights. And, although that is a given, this bill goes out of its way to protect the free speech of ministers. Those pastors who wish to continue condemning and dehumanizing the gay community will be free to do so.

The hate crimes bill provides resources for the investigation of violent actions - not beliefs, thoughts, or words. The proposed federal statute does not punish nor prohibit free expression of one's religious beliefs. As University of Chicago law professor Geoffrey R. Stone recently concluded, "The argument of the pastors that the proposed legislation in any way threatens their right to preach their version of the Gospel is, to be frank, ridiculous."

...These preachers don't care to hear the thousands of stories of lives and communities scarred by antigay violence. And, conveniently, those who bring up the reality that the Matthew Shepard Act is a constitutional and important means to prevent antigay violence are labeled by these clergy as "anti-Christian." The good intentions of this legislation have been greeted by malice by these manipulators of fact.
The efforts of antigay preachers and their supporters is not the way to create the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision of a "Beloved Community" - where we all strive to treat each other with respect and compassion.

Justice MH: If they can e-mail, and fax their Senators up to the nose, then so can we.Call the Capital switchboard at (202) 224-3121, and tell your Senator to help pass this important bill. Final Note: If we don't get the bill pass in the Senate, then we'll just keep trying again, again, and again. Eventually it will pass, most likely this time or next time. We have all the cards, let's just hope they play out correctly!

Southern Baptist's Richard Land Vs. Focus on the Family's James Dobson over Fred Thompson!!!

I agree with blender Pam , let's put these two in a steel-cage match, but it's nothing but a typical fundamentalist cat fight! Recently, Dr.Dobson has brought down his fiery judgment on Fred Thompson in an personal e-mail that contain his personal view of Fred:

Isn't Thompson the candidate who is opposed to a Constitutional amendment to protect marriage, believes there should be 50 different definitions of marriage in the U.S., favors McCain-Feingold, won't talk at all about what he believes, and can't speak his way out of a paper bag on the campaign trail?" Dobson wrote.

"He has no passion, no zeal, and no apparent 'want to.' And yet he is apparently the Great Hope that burns in the breasts of many conservative Christians? Well, not for me, my brothers. Not for me!"

I never thought i would do this, but i agree with Dobson. If you want to appeal to these fake Christ followers, then you have to be passionate in your zeal, dogma, bias, and intolerance. If you're not in more than one category, then Dobson won't support you.

Now Dobson has a challenger in his own ranks,Richard Land, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist, and he came to Fred's rescue:

I’ve received phone calls and emails from Southern Baptists about Senator Thompson. They are all furious at Doctor Dobson. They just feel that first of all there was a mischaracterizing of his positions. Do I wish that he supported the marriage protection amendment? Of course I do. To say that he is for 50 different views of marriage in 50 different states is a gross mischaracterization of his position. Secondly, do I wish that he attended church every Sunday? As a Baptist pastor, of course I do. But does that make him a person of unbelief? That’s harsh and unwarranted.”

Dr. Land argues that Dobson is NOT seeing Fred for what he really is. However, I agree with Dobson, something i never do, but for this one time i will. Fred is NOT conservative has he wants to appear for the conservative base. Dr.Land wants to make Fred to sound good to the conservative base of the GOP party. Read how he paints a picture of values out of Fred:

“Fred Thompson grew up in a very modest means in a small town in America just like Ronald Reagan grew up in very modest means in a small town in Illinois. You acquire not only an understanding of but a respect for everyday folk when you come from the background that you don’t get otherwise and people sense it. That this is a guy who respects me, a guy who understands that we are the backbone of this country, we are the salt of the Earth and he not only understands us, he’s one of us. He’s a successful one of us but he’s one of us and they trust a guy like that. They give a guy like that a larger margin of error. Nobody gets everything right but its core values. My assessment is that this guy is a whole much like Reagan including his Teflon quality. The press has been beating up with him for these types of gaffes and he continues to climb in the polls.”

Justice MH: Fred is NOT the saviour of the conservative base that Dr.Land so badly wants. In fact, the GOP field doesn't look like they have it together. The GOP party in my view, doesn't have control of this election in 2008. So Conservatives can keep fighting among each other Romney, Rudy, MCain, and even Fred will NOT save you!

Has the NAACP lost their Mission?

Well, Mr.Broward thinks the NAACP should stick to racial injustice, and have nothing to do with the gays' struggle. The NAACP is quite aware of black gays and lesbians. The organization is a black one, so why not include gays who are black? This man misses the mark like so many black religious leaders. Here's his bigoted quote:

'The NAACP is getting away from their mission . . . the organization never got involved with sex sins. Homosexuals have masterfully redefined words to suit their cause . . . theirs is not a civil rights issue. It's the first time the branch has taken a public stand on behalf of gay rights."
--Mathes Guice, the paramilitary-clad director of the men's ministry at Koinonia Worship Center and former vice president of the Broward NAACP. He is miffed at the Broward NAACP's condemnation of his new best friend -- anti-gay, homosex-obsessed Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jim Naugle. Guice is also calling for a ''spiritual revival'' to "transform Fort Lauderdale and Broward County into the Bible Belt of South Florida.''

Justice MH: This man obviously thinks homosexuals don't have brown or dark skin. The Civil rights movements included black straights and gays. Now he can deny it if he wants, but the gays' struggle in the 21st century is a civil rights issue. Some will argue, but their arguments are weak, bias, and desperate. The definition of Civil rights is: Rights guaranteed to citizens; the rights provided by the 13th and 14th amendments of the United States Constitution. Homosexuals just happen to be tax-paying American citizens. It's like I said on this site many times: " you have the right to speak freely on any issue, but you do NOT have the right to deny any American the citizen their rights guaranteed by the U.S Constitution. Mrs. Coretta Scott King always refer to her husband's famous quote "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice anywhere".

The "View"s Co-Host Sherri Shepard": Doesn't know if earth is round or flat in the year 2007???

Sherri Shepherd has proven to me and others that when the bible is proven to be wrong or when it makes a boo-boo, then biblical perfections like sherri refuse to admit the book is wrong on this issue. Another note on those like sherri is they prove political consultants right, that Americans are easily proven to be ignorant. They vote poor leaders into office, who lead us into a senseless war like George W.Bush. I agree with fellow blogger claycane, sherri is the dumb negro of the week. I also agree with him on why do some Christans act like the bible is some accurate historical document? Well, you can call it blind faith, faith is good, but blind faith makes people believe things without enough proof or reason in it!

Now that's a cop-out. Sherri doesn't want to admit the bible is wrong or made a mistake. I always said this and people close to me don't like it but:" If the bible was inspired, then the holy spirit is the author of error". Too many Christians are in denial! Take a look at Elisabeth Hasselbeck's poor defense of sherri:

HASSELBECK: I don’t think you have to learn to be perfect either… you’re just yourself. I thought you handled that so well yesterday. You said ‘You know I actually, my mind is full of what’s my son doing right now, what am I going to feed him for dinner, I’m a mom.’ Like I think that’s completely fine to say ‘You know what, today I don’t care if the earth is round or flat. I may not care tomorrow, I just wanna know that…’

Justice: When most Christians want to make it look like the bible is always accurate and correct like God, they make themselves look like fools.The bible has been shown to have contradictions and inconsistencies, and falsehoods[ex.earth is flat]! Note to Sherri: The earth is round. The bible just made a boo-boo/mistake. Get over it!

On August 3, 2007, I was asked to give an interview on a listener sponsored radio station on the subject of "Christianity and Gay Rights." The following article encompassing that interview appears in the current issue of the excellent website, Whosoever.org that is a Christian site edited by my friend Rev. Candace Chellew Hodge that is primarily geared to LGBT people and allies.

This is the substance of the interview that I gave, and that I thought you might want to read here.

I want to reiterate my position in this context, that there is complete consistency between being a Christian and being Gay! As my friend, Rev. Troy Perry beautifully said, "Jesus came to take away our sins. Not our sexuality!"

The distortions that have been promulgated from assorted pulpits and media outlets by professing Christians condeming Gay people are not only dead wrong, but are unbiblical and unGodly!

We are to never allow their ignorance and/or desire for material and/or political and/or psychological and/or social and/or career gains to trump the truth of the only Gospel to be found in Christianity: The Gospel of grace, faith, love, peace, reconciliation, and inclusiveness!

"Christianity and LGBT People: A Teaching Summary"

Recently, I was asked to give an interview on a public listener sponsored radio station that largely has as its audience rather politically progressive people, most of whom can be expected to have an understandable disdain for anything "Christian."

Given the fact that most of the organized Church has been so enmeshed with the interests of the State, tenaciously adhering to the status quo, and has embarrassingly been in the vanguard of historically providing "justification" for the oppression of all sorts of minority groups, such as women and, in the not too distant past, Afro-Americans, I very much welcomed this invitation, and sought to show how Christianity has been perverted by its all too frequent identification with Americanism, militarism, and capitalism; how there was absolutely nothing in the Bible that condemns same-sex love and, in fact, the Bible actually affirms same-sex love. I clearly wanted to dispel the false notion held by many that Christians are a bunch of harsh, censorious, judgmental people, and sought to credibly present the Gospel, both in and of itself, as well as present it in the context of the lives of LGBT people and same-sex love.

I made the distinction, first suggested to me by my friend Bishop Leland Somers, between the Christian Church and the Constantinian Church, the latter initiated when Constantine, in the fourth Century, made Christianity a State religion. We have yet to recover from that debacle.

The Christian Church extols the only Gospel to be found in Christianity: the Gospel of grace, and those who are Christians indeed seek to be agents of God's grace in this world to try to make the earth, in the words of St. Augustine, "a colony of heaven." The Constantinian Church, on the other hand, has historically aligned itself with Empire and the oppression of others for assorted psychological and/or social and/or political and/or material gain.

The Christian Church, comprised of the world wide body of believers who seek to live out the Gospel, should have no affinity with the Constantinian Church; to the degree that Christians who belong to Christ find themselves within its clutches, I strongly urge that they flee those churches and/or denominations, and either find a Christian church that reinforces our need and Godly mandate to live out the only Gospel to be found in Christianity: the Gospel of grace (God's unmerited favor to us), faith (trusting God over and above seen circumstances), love, peace, reconciliation, and inclusiveness or, absent that option, form their own worship communities, or even, if necessary, worship God alone "in spirit and in truth," thereby avoiding the toxic, soul-destroying, churches that have aligned themselves with Empire and oppression that are diametrically opposed to Jesus' Commandments for us to love God and to love others, including our enemies, as much as we love ourselves.

The following, although not a literal rendering of my responses to the questions asked of me, which followed a conversational style, reflect what I said on that program, and I thought you might find them of interest, and might want to adopt some or all of them in your interaction with others who feel that God can't possibly love LGBT people, and who have a distorted view of Christianity, tragically given how it has been portrayed in the mainstream media, and how much, if not most, of the organized Church has been "infiltrated" by the influence of those who really belong, and are best consigned, to the Constantinian Church.

How do you define Christianity?

The Gospel means: Good News! The good news is that we are God's children by God's grace alone (unmerited favor) and we appropriate that grace through our abiding faith (implacable trust) in God (i.e. trusting God over and above seen circumstances), love, peace, reconciliation, and inclusiveness! That's the only Gospel to be found in Christianity.

Unfortunately, we are primarily exposed to the false gospel of legalism, perfectionism, and exclusion, a false gospel that is diametrically opposed to the good news, to Christianity itself. Far too many propound the gospel of genital placement, rather than the Gospel of Christ; ignore such egregious sins as unjust war, poverty, and disease.

That's undoubtedly why so many intelligent, sensitive, and decent people want nothing to do with Christianity, and even resent it (and who can blame them?), because so many have never been exposed to it, either by word or by deed, and relate it to a harsh, censorious religion which is diametrically opposed to what Christianity really is. In Christianity, all of the Commandments are fulfilled by loving God and by loving others! These are the only Commandments Jesus gives us! We are to never judge or condemn others! (Mt. 7:1; Romans 2:1)

What are some of the basic Bible quotes you've heard used by religious leaders to demonize LGBT people?

First of all, a tribal society, living on the edge, and surrounded by enemies must be "fruitful and multiply" if it is going to survive! Therefore, under those conditions, there is no premium placed on homosexual activity! However, we are no longer a tribal society living on the edge; it's inappropriate to blindly translate the cultural practices of ancient societies to contemporary society as to do so cheapens the Bible; is intellectually and spiritually dishonest; the Bible never makes such a claim for itself. Biblical principle of freedom from yokes of bondage must always trump biblical practice!

Gen. 19-The Sin of Sodom: It has absolutely nothing to do with homosexuality. It has to do with attempted gang rape! One would have to assume that all the men of Sodom were gay, which is foolish on its face; if the 2 angels that visited Lot had been women, I doubt that the homophobic religious leaders would be condemning heterosexuality. Whenever Sodom and Gomorrah are mentioned in the Bible, homosexuality is never mentioned as its sin. Inhospitality and not taking care of the poor were its major sins! In Jude, in the NT, in referring to Sodom and Gomorrah, "giving themselves over to fornication" and going after "strange flesh" are mentioned, but "strange flesh" probably meant the men seeking to gang rape angels and not human beings.

Lev. 18:22-"Thou shalt not lie with a man as with a woman. It is an abomination." If homosexuality were being condemned here, beyond the fact that women would have also likely been included in the prohibition, all that the writer would have had to write is, "Thou shalt not lie with a man. It's an abomination." Everyone knows what "to lie with" means, and they certainly knew its meaning.

To add, "as with a woman," only makes sense if we understand the inferior status of women in that society, so that it was viewed as shameful, an abomination, for a man to act like a woman. Also, these laws in Leviticus are part of the purity laws in the OT that don't apply to Christians. If we really want to follow the OT law, we couldn't play football, as we couldn't touch the skin of a dead pig; we couldn't wear mixed fibers in our clothes; we couldn't be near a menstruating woman; we couldn't eat shell fish; we would stone adulterers to death; we would stone to death those who work on the Sabbath etc. I don't hear homophobic religious leaders seeking to impose these laws on others! At least, not yet!

Romans 1:27-32--- But they never read Romans 2:1 that provides the context for the above passages. Also, in Rom. 1:26-27, "against nature" (para physin in the Greek) is also used when God brought the Gentiles into the fold (Romans 11:21-24). This term is probably best translated as "unexpected," or "something not done in the usual way."

Also, you'll notice that the men and women spoken of here "gave up" the natural use of the member of the opposite sex. They "gave up" what was natural for them and then engaged in sexual behavior that was unnatural for them. Paul is not talking here of homosexuals, but of heterosexuals who gave it up and acted in ways that were not natural to them so as to worship pagan deities, after they had first turned their backs on God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-'Malakoi" is frequently mistranslated "effeminate," as it means "soft," and is used elsewhere in the Bible (in Luke) to denote soft clothing. In this context it probably means "people with soft morals" or "people who lack courage." There is no warrant to translate it as effeminate.

It's important in this context to point out that the word, "homosexual," never appears in any biblical manuscript, as it is a term coined in the late 19th Century. The first time it appeared in an English translation of the Bible was in the 1946 RSV. It is translated from the Greek word, "arsenokoitai," which is an obscure word that does not seem to be found in other Ancient literature, and that seems to only have been used by the Apostle Paul. It literally means, "male beds."

In the context Paul uses that term it seems to be where male cult prostitution is practiced-e.g. heterosexual and homosexual sex in homage to assorted pagan deities, such as those related to fertility, to have the crops grow. Paul undoubtedly wrote the Book of Romans from Corinth where there were many pagan religions, such as the fertility cult of Aphrodite, where such pagan deities were worshipped in this fashion, so it's most likely that it is to that practice that he's referring, and is not in any way condemning same-sex love, or even dealing with sexual orientation.

Nowhere is same-sex love condemned in the Bible! In fact, it is affirmed, most notably in the case of King David (called "a man after God's own heart") and Jonathan. Even a cursory reading of their relationship in 1Samuel shows David to have been either bisexual or a gay man!

Moreover, if homosexuality was so important, why is it not mentioned in the Ten Commandments; why did the prophets never write about it; why didn't Jesus ever condemn it? If it were that important, don't you think that it would have been mentioned in at least one of these contexts?

Why are most organized Christian church members not accepting LGBT people at their services, while other organized Christian church members are leaving when their church does accept LGBT people?

Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's propaganda minister said something that is, unfortunately, all too true. He said that no matter how big the lie, if it's repeated often enough, people will come to believe it!

Most professing Christians, and others, have been sold a bill of goods by most clergy and their followers in most of the organized Church. The lie that same-sex love is condemned by God because it's in the Bible has been repeated so often, that it has become a virtual axiom that has erroneously come to determine in the minds of many one's standing with God, and has also come to be defined as "immoral," and people have come to believe that lie.

All too many clergy use their pulpits to distort the Bible to be in accord with their own prejudices, and neither they nor their followers seem to see any contradiction between their demonizing Gay people, and presenting and living the Gospel of Jesus, which is diametrically opposed to their hateful and discriminatory rhetoric and/or actions.

Moreover, many fail to realize that even if the Bible condemned LGBT people and same-sex love, which it most definitely does not, civil society in America lives under the U.S. Constitution and not the Bible! Since when do we let others' interpretation of selected biblical passages determine what civil rights accrue to others? There is absolutely no justification for denial of full and equal civil rights, including the right to be civilly (and sacramentally) married, to LGBT people, either constitutionally or even biblically!

In addition, black and white thinking, having an "us against them" mentality, gives many people certain psychological, social, and material benefits. Creating out-groups helps bring members of the in-group together; it gives many people who are uncomfortable with ambiguity and the many grey areas of life "the illusion of certainty" in life; homophobic rhetoric is likely to make members of the in-group feel morally superior at others' expense; such rhetoric may well garner more money in the collection plates. (I would really love to know how much money is garnered each time a mailer is sent out by religious homophobic leaders to their constituents soliciting contributions to "fight against the homosexual agenda." I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's in the millions of dollars.)

Since it's no longer politically correct or socially acceptable to any longer publicly discriminate against women, or Afro-Americans as occurred by many clergy and other professing Christians in the not too distant past, LGBT people have become the enemy de jour, and are blamed by certain professing Christians for everything from "the breakdown of the family" to Hurricane Katrina.

It's very important for professing Christians and all others to realize that just because one attends church, or just because one is called "Reverend," and has his or her collar turned around, doesn't necessarily make that person a Christian! Just because I go into a garage doesn't make me a car!

I truly hope that some or all of these points, although perhaps familiar to many of us, can be of use to you as you witness to others the truth of the Christian life as it relates to the living out of the Gospel, and as it relates to the fact that God makes LGBT people whom, like His other children, He chose before the worlds were formed (Ephesians 1:4-5) to be His own possession, and whom He loves like crazy!

Local NAACP President Speaks out on gay rights and gets mixed Reviews from the Black Community!!!

The Homophobia being spewed from the Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jim Naugle and his recent anti-gay statements are nothing new, but I want to touch this issue going on in Florida.Local African-American ministers, such as the Rev. O’Neal Dozier, have spoken out in favor of Naugle. What is wrong with black ministers these days? Anytime in history, there is someone or group that's an easy target for hate and intolerance. However, someone did the unpopular thing and stood up and spoke out for what's right:

President of the Fort Lauderdale branch of the NAACP Ellison’s mission was clear: She would speak out against what she considered hate speech and discrimination, regardless of the fact that the offending words were aimed at the gay community, a community she is not charged with representing.

“Mayor Naugle’s message is about one thing — hate,” she said. “Homophobia is hate, and hate has no place in the beloved community.”

Justice MH: That's what it exactly is. It's really sad to see black ministers stand by people like this Mayor Naugle. Why must former oppress people now oppress someone else? I guess once you're finally sitting at the table, then it's your turn to take the next group and beat up on them with the traditional holy bullies!
Diverse Opinion in the Black Community!

Brad Bennett, executive editor of the Broward Times, a newspaper that covers the local black community, said it was “odd that she would speak out about gay issues.”

“Based on what I’m hearing from readers, I don’t think the Fort Lauderdale NAACP reflects the views of the larger black community,” he said. “Publicly, members of the community fall in line with the pastors.”

Justice MH: Wow! If members of the community fall in line with ignorant and bigoted pastors, then they are some sheep without any God-given brains! And how is it odd for a NAACP president to speak out on gay issues? Every family has a gay relative and everyone knows someone who is gay. It seems the next opinion knows what i'm talking about!

Everybody has somebody who is gay in their family or knows gay people,” said Larry Bowman, a used car salesman and regular at Betty’s. “I have to agree with [Ellison]. It’s hate speech. The mayor is asking for hatred to be cast upon him.”Dorothy Jackson, who works the counter at Betty’s agreed.

Bowman and Jackson said they respect gays and lesbians, but they also pointed out that their neighbors don’t normally discuss gay issues.

“Gay people is not a top issue,” Bowman said. “There are more important issues like the relationship of police officers and citizens. How are you going to relate to officers if you can’t trust them.”

Justice MH: Well, this sounds like decent people who actually make sense. Of course they admit that gay issues are rarely discuss in the black community, and a discussion like that needs to happen. The black community needs to try to get pass this and move forward. The next opinion didn't sit well with me, and it really piss me off!

Elder Solomon Williams and his sister, who would identify herself only as Mrs. Williams, sat at the counter to order a plate of ribs and steamed cabbage. They had a heavy, dog-eared Bible with them from which they quoted scripture. The Williams reflected much of the black fundamentalist point of view at Betty’s, saying the gay community was asking for special privileges.

Although Elder Williams agreed that a public official singling out one group amounts to discrimination, he said he considers Naugle as speaking “the word of God” against the unrighteous.

“Every man you see who loves another man, they knew God before they got into their condition,” Williams said.
Ellison recognizes that black opinion is largely influenced by the church regarding gay rights, but she notes that Naugle’s backers are not representative.

“You need to take note of the churches that were not present [at the Sept. 5th press conference],” she said.

Justice MH: Ok, where shall i begin with these hypocritical views? First, if you love someone, how can you not know God anymore? I can guess where she's getting this from? Let me guess, another misinterpretation of Romans 1. Why is this woman using a medical term "condition"? I do NOT have a condition, or any other gay person have a "condition"! What's so special about having your relationship recognize? Job protection? Protected in hate crime laws on federal level? There is nothing special about that. It's what's guranteed in the U.S Consitution. The bible has no say in this, or any other civil-affairs/matters. I guess when the former oppress has what's rightfully there's, then when someone else comes along, the former oppress acts out on who deserves what. Again, black people are influenced by the hypocritical black church. Yeah, i said it, and I'm black. This woman carries a bible around like it's a body organ implanted by God. I agree with fellow blogger Jerry Maneker of http://christianlgbtrights.org the bible is NOT God. God is perfect and free of errors. The bible is the opposite! Why do black people insist on using that fallible, racist, sexist, and imperfect book on others? I call the bible fallible because the errors in the bible make it fallible, that makes it not infallible or inerrant. The contradictions and inconsistencies of the bible is NOT being ignored by biblical scholars or theologians. The bible isn't alone, the Koran is the same, and other holy books. The issue here is that blacks should be speaking out against people like Mayor Naugle, not standing with him because he hates those who you hate or doesn't measure to your standards, and speaks how you interpretate the bible. Like Coretta Scott King would say: Hate and bigotry should be oppose by right thinking Americans". She would say something like, it's not accurate. However, I don't see right-thinking Americans or even true Christians. It's that us vs. them mentality! Blacks are suppose to keep the dream alive, but instead we're turning it into a nightmare! After the gays, what group is next to be the target of intolerance, discrimination, hate, and bigotry?

But the sexual behaviors of gay and heterosexual men in the United States may not be as different as most people think, the researchers said. In fact, two surveys found that most gay men have a similar rate of sex with unprotected partners compared to straight men or women.

Justice MH: Now like many studies, this one may have flaws, and it's not conclusive. However, too many people quick to judge people who HIV+. Blaming and judging others will not lower the HIV/AIDS rates. Responsibility and knowledge are the keys to helping this epidemic.

Ja Rule: MTV's Promotion of homosexuality is ruining America

Hip-Hop Rapper Ja Rule gives us the latest on what's ruining America: homosexuality[NOT]! Instead of the Iraq war, racism, or sexism ruining America, Ja Rule criticizes the group who most likely to get criticize for illogical reasons. In Ja Rule's mind it's depictions of gay and lesbian couples on MTV's reality tv shows.

Ja Rule recently did a interview with Complex,the formerly popular rapper blasted upcoming congressional hearings that "will probe 'stereotypes and degradation' of black women in hip-hop and the entertainment industry and he says "calling a woman a bitch or a hoe on my rap songs" is not problematic.

Ok, so calling a woman especially a black woman a hoe or bitch is NOT problematic? Damn, I'm thankful i don't have his logic thinking. Ja, if it wasn't for a woman, you wouldn't be talking this bullsh*t right here:

they got my man Doug Morris under fire and shit, they got him going down to go speak to Congress about hip-hop lyrics, are you fucking serious? There's a fucking black kid right now about to get 25 years for having a fight with some white kids over hanging the nooses over the white tree, lets get to that. Let's get into shit like that, because that's what's tearing up America, not me calling a woman a bitch or a hoe on my rap songs. And if it is, then we need to go step to Paramount, and fucking MGM, and all of these other motherfuckers that's making all of these movies and we need to go step to MTV and Viacom, and lets talk about all these fucking shows that they have on MTV that is promoting homosexuality, that my kids can't watch this shit. Dating shows that's showing two guys or two girls in mid afternoon. Let's talk about shit like that! If that's not fucking up America, I don't know what is. There's a lot of issues we can address besides hip-hop, but they want to put everything on us like we're the problem. But see, and this is going to be a shameless fucking plug, but I said, "when everyone wants to point the finger, and ask why there's so much corruption, they only need to look in the mirror." Justice MH: You want to know what's ruining America? It's people like this. Ja Rule doesn't respect women who was the cause of him being carried safely for 9 months, and being born healthy. Bashing MTV for expanding it's tv shows for other viewers like gay people who want to be represented on tv too, will not help Ja out the mess he put himself in. Blaming the gays won't get the attention off of Ja Rule's offensive lyrics towards women. Note to Ja Rule: Make sure your own back yard is clean before you start telling others to clean their own back yard up! Ja Rule's sexist lyrics is NOT being tolerated, it's unacceptable, and offensive. Women deserve much better, this lack of respect goes back to the depictions/interpretation of the story of Adam and Eve. Women are our mothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, and nieces. They deserve our appreciation and respect!

Louisiana State University student Michael Denton gives his cent-less on Montgomery County’s decision to include gays in sex ed. Same old recipe from older right-wingers:

America needs to grow in self-confidence on this debate. The homosexual argument is illogical; sexuality is obviously meant for reproduction. Any sexual activity that is opposed to life is intrinsically disordered. Yet we continue to refuse to stand up for ourselves, allowing courts, school boards and speech codes to dictate political correctness to us.

Justice: "The sex is for "procreation" argument is so old and tiresome. The majority of human being will admit sex is for pleasure. We are NOT the children of Israel tribe trying to reproduce to out number the enemy, and gain land. Denton wants to have his dogmatic correctness for his older right-wing mentors.Also, right-winger talk about us recruiting, it seems they love to recruit young people to advocate a right-wing agenda. Note: Everyone does NOT have to procreate, quoting Genesis is a same old recipe, and humans have more purpose than procreating! The Religious argument is never logical in it's dogmatic form. AS I said humans have a much more a purpose than procreating, you still can, but a person's purpose in life is so much bigger.

GOP U.S Candidate calls for impeachment of Iowa Judge for ruling on Marriage Equality!!!

You know I would have never pick Iowa to be the next state for Marriage Equality, we just need the Iowa State Supreme Court to make the same ruling the Polk County District Judge Robert Hanson made. I love these fu*king activist judges. Ok, the nicknames are childish, and immature. Conservative and right-wingers need to grow up.
As soon as Marriage is extended to gay couples in a state the bigots come come like a pack of dogs. Here's this laughable outrage from a Conservative GOP:

A conservative political activist is demanding that the Iowa Legislature impeach Polk County District Judge Robert Hanson, who ruled last month that state’s ban on gay marriage is unconstitutional.

Bill Salier, a Nora Springs farmer and former Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, said Wednesday that he is passing petitions favoring the judge’s impeachment.

..."He’s advancing what he wants to be the law, but he cannot pass law because he is not a representative or a senator or a governor," Salier said. “It’s a malfeasance of his office, and he needs to be removed for it."

Thankfully,Slaier's calls for impeachment is the biggest joke to many in the State legislature like the Democratic Senate Majority leader:

Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal laughed when he heard about the effort. The Council Bluffs Democrat said he wasn’t sure if the Legislature even has the power to impeach a judge. "I'm next to positive it’s never been done," he said.

Gronstal said Salier’s impeachment demand was not an honest attempt to oust Hanson. "Let’s be blunt: The likelihood of that happening is zero, and he knows it, and you know it."

The House majority leader is no fool at all:

"This is a very emotional issue, but we are not interested in politicizing the judicial branch to help the failing presidential campaign of Tom Tancredo."

Justice MH: I am please to announce the state of Iowa is free from bigotry, injustice and discrimination! Let's try to keep it that way.

Majority of Americans Support Legislation for LGBT Job Protection!!!

Here's some not so surprising news. Nearly two-thirds of all American adults believe it is unfair that federal law currently allows for an employer to fire someone because they are gay or lesbian according to a new poll. Read it and weep it:

This survey continues to demonstrate that clear majorities of American adults agree that discrimination in the workplace on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity is wrong," says Out & Equal Executive Director Selisse Berry. "It is apparent that heterosexual co-workers are realizing that sexual orientation is not relevant to job performance."

In addition, more heterosexuals (88%) say they would feel indifferent or feel positively upon learning that a co-worker is gay or lesbian. About one-in-ten (12%) say they would feel negatively.

This positive response from co-workers is likely a contributing factor to the increase in the numbers of gays and lesbians who feel comfortable(2) about being open in the workplace about their sexual orientation.(3)

* In 2007, 54 percent of GLBT adults are comfortable having a photo of their spouse, partner or significant other on their desk, compared to only 34 percent in 2002 who felt this way.
* In 2007, 64 percent of GLBT adults are comfortable introducing their spouse, partner or significant other to their co-workers, compared to 50 percent in 2002 who said they would be comfortable doing this.

* 64% believe it is unfair that federal law currently allows for an employer to fire someone because they are gay or lesbian.

* 60% of heterosexual adults were not even aware that federal law does not provide protections for employees on the basis of sexual orientation.

A Closer look at the Progress in Iraq!!!

General Petraeus has given the Democratic Congress his report on Iraq yesterday, the eve of 9/11. General Petraeus was accused by anti-war groups like moveon.org for giving a one-sided or flawed report. Are they right about General Petraeus? Maybe!

It's interesting to note, he didn't show these graphic of how Iraqis feel about "improvements" in Iraq:

* 65 to 70 percent of Iraqis say the escalation has "worsened rather than improved security."
* 78 percent say "things are going badly for the country overall," up 13 points since winter.
* 63 percent say it was wrong for the U.S. to have invaded Iraq, up from 52 percent in March and 39 percent in Feb. 2004.
* 47 percent now favor "immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces," a 12-point rise since March.

CNN:"The security situation is changing," Bush told reporters during the visit. "There's more work to be done. But reconciliation is taking place."

But according to the Sydney Morning Herald of Australia, the president gave a more-to-the-point assessment to Australia Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile.

"We're kicking ass," Bush said to Vaile Tuesday, according the Herald, after the deputy prime minister inquired about his trip to Iraq. On Thursday, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino would not confirm or deny the reported comment.

Justice MH: Wow! Should I be surprise? Well, I'm not. Our President isn't the brightest, and need to go back to school on grammar, and comprehension skills. This man is fooling no one! It's comments like these that make the U.S to no be taken serious.

Also it looks like Bush's economy is kicking ass as well: US housing woes deepen as delinquencies, foreclosures rise:

The Mortgage Bankers Association, which represents banks and other firms in real estate finance, said delinquencies rose in the second quarter to 5.12 percent of loans on one-to-four-unit residential properties, up from 4.84 percent in the prior quarter.
The delinquency rate does not count another 1.4 percent of loans in the foreclosure process in the April-June period, also up from the first quarter.

Moreover, an additional 0.65 percent of loans entered the foreclosure process, the highest in the history of the survey.

GOP debate on Gay Marriage question: Audience boos Sen. Sam Brownback's Proposal!!

Last night's debate for the GOP white house hopefuls came expectedly to the Marriage equality question. Correspondent Carl Cameron asked a New Hampshire woman whether she wanted gay marriage banned. Her answer—“Absolutely not. We're the state of 'live free or die' and people should be able to marry the person they love"—received wide cheers from the audience.

Moderator Brit Hume asked the same question to third tier, social conservative candidate Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS):

"The answer to that is yes. And the reason is, this is a foundational institution. It is a foundational institution."I think this is important for us to rebuild the family structure. In countries that have redefined marriage, where they’ve said, okay, it’s not just a man and a woman, it can be two men, two women, the marriage rates in those countries have plummeted to where you have counties now in Northern Europe where 80 percent of the first-born children are born out of wedlock. We don’t need more children born out of wedlock; we need more children born into wedlock between a mom and a dad bonded together for life.
When you do these vast social experiments — and that’s what this is, when you redefine marriage. It’s a vast social experiment. They’re not done in isolation. They impact the rest of the culture around you. When you take the sacredness out of marriage, you will drive the marriage rates down. And currently in this country, currently we’re at 36 percent of our children born out of wedlock. You can raise a good child in that setting, but we know the best place is between a mom and a dad bonded together for life".

Justice MH: Those so-called "social experiments are our loving relationships. What is with this "redefining" marriage"? Marriage has change throughout the centries. In fact marriage has a insane history, the bible shares some of that history. Marriage is simply being extended and including same-sex couples, surely not being redefined.

What Sen.Brownback has proven is that he will scapegoat gay people's sexual orientation and relationships to score political points and political power. The rates he quoted are questionable, but like many peolple have said: What does gay people and their relationships have to do with his arguments? Doesn't it take two to tangle? He needs to stop the bullsh*t, because it's barely flying without getting smacked down.

If Sen. Brownback wants to end the breakdown of marriage and the family then ban divorce. Heterosexual marriages already end over a 50% rate. Sen.Brownback can also help end poverty, it also has sn affect on marriages. What about domestic violence Sen.Brownback? I rather decrease violence in heterosexual marriages then scapegoating same-sex couple's access to marriage.

Sen.Brownback is a typical Republican looking to play on the American people's fears, and superstitous ways. This is NOT what a President should be advocating, and should NOT have this high power of leadership of this great democracy that stands for every man is equal.

Sen. Brownback like President Bush is breaking the first Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion.....". The Congress has not broken this wise and sacred law for bias and dogmatic religious beliefs. Sen.Brownback has no chance in hell of being the President of the United States. No chance in hell.

The state of New Hampshire is Democratic, but also a state that practices freedom from discrimnation and injustice. New Hampshire recently passed legislation establishing civil unions and Gov. John Lynch (D) proudly noted his state has "a long and proud tradition taking the lead in opposing discrimination."

One more thing to think about, 40% of America supports marriage equality, and majority [62%] Young votes such as myself support it. Is the religious right and conservative groups fear coming true? Oh believe me it is, but we still have alot of work to do. It appears as the years go by with states that have Marriage equality and civil unions for gay couples, the American people are becoming more comfortable, and scapegoating, fear, and supersitution is wearing off slowly, but surely!

Breaking News: Hypocritical GOP Senator Larry Craig may not resign!!!

Oh Lord, this is getting even more interesting with the GOP party. Now, it's being reported that restroom cruising GOP Senator Larry Craig may not resign from the U.S Senate. The GOP party is already struggling toward the November 2008 elections to regain control of the Senate. Which I hope they don't. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell threatened to investigate Craig, may have started it already. What will he say about Sen. Larry's defiance of the GOP party's wishes?

Sen. Larry Craig is reconsidering his decision to resign after his arrest in a Minnesota airport sex sting and may still fight for his Senate seat, his spokesman said Tuesday evening.
"It's not such a foregone conclusion anymore, that the only thing he could do was resign," said Sidney Smith, Craig's spokesman in Idaho's capital.

"We're still preparing as if Sen. Craig will resign Sept. 30, but the outcome of the legal case in Minnesota and the ethics investigation will have an impact on whether we're able to stay in the fight -- and stay in the Senate."

Justice MH: I wonder what the GOP party Will do now? They're trying to please their conservative base, and regain their standards they claim to stand for. GOP White House Hopeful received the "straight talk"!!!

GOP white house hopeful John MCcain was guest speaker at New Hampshire's Concord High School today, and a student named William Sleaster who identify as bi-sexual gave Sen. John MCcain some real 'straight talk":

Another student then asked McCain a question about what he would do for “LGBT” rights – the initials stand for Lesbian, Gay, Bi Sexual, and Transgender people. McCain was confused by the question and admitted to the audience that he did not know what the initials meant. Once it was clarified, McCain told sophomore William Sleaster that he was opposed to any form of discrimination, but he supported the military’s current “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy and that he opposed gay marriage.

“I believe that the sanctity of marriage between man and woman is unique and should be preserved, and I understand the controversy that swirls around that issue, and that debate needs to be continued to be held, but I support that position,” McCain said.

“You want to take away someone’s rights because you believe it’s wrong,” Sleaster followed up.

“I don’t put that interpretation on my position, but I understand yours,” McCain responded, seeming to enjoy the back and forth.

“I came here looking to see a good leader, I don’t,” Sleaster said before leaving the microphone to some boos and gasps from the audience and an eventual scolding by a school administrator.

“Listen, I understand,” McCain told the buzzing crowd. “I thank you, that’s what America is all about, and I appreciate your views.”

When asked later at a news conference, McCain admitted he had never heard the initials “LGBT” before, but knew the phrase.

Justice MH; What is with this Sanctity of marriage stuff? When we have an over 50% divorce rate and high levels of domestic violence and adultery out of control. Sen. McCain is divorce, but he dares to NOT allow same-sex couples access to marriage, leaving marriage a special club for heterosexual couples. The so-called "Traditional" Marriage is not so cut and dry as Christan conservatives would have everyone to believe. Sen. McCain says he opposes discrimination. McCain does support the discriminatory policy "Don't ask Don't tell. A policy that has discharge many proud gay Americans who want to defend their country. The country they fight for doesn't grant their every right privilege that guaranteed in the U.S Constitution.

Back to the whole Traditional Marriage argument from Sen. McCain. He says it must be preserved? How is opposite sex marriage being affect in states like Massachusetts with same-sex couples having access to marriage? I haven't received an answer on that, but some will find some silly reason to show how it affects it. Now the state Iowa allows same-sex couples to marriage, but we still need a step further on Marriage Equality from the Iowa Supreme Court. Sen. McCain should listen to this judge about it is unconstitutional, and violate the due process of law and equality for all Americans. Sen. McCain is full of contradictions on this social issue. He's trying to cater to the Religious right, but they don't trust him anyway. I really don't know why the GOP party chose to get into bed with the Religious. The only reason could be to play on the American people's fear, votes, and for power! William was right, he was looking for a leading, but he didn't find one. Oh, William sure found a flip-flopper, and an inconsistent man.

Young men like William, myself, and our generation is going to change America for the better. Conservative Christan groups and leaders see my generation is moving to the left on social issues, and other issues as well. To the left, to the left, everything you own, and your theocratic[fallible] bible to the left! I respect the bible, but our nation is govern by our U.S Constitution NOT the bible or any other holy book. This is a democracy, NOT a theocracy!

I love Democratic Presdential hopeful Mike Gravel. He supports full Marriage equality, and gay rights for LGBT people. He responds to a question by Bill Maher on why these GOP sexual hypocrites would join on a party that doesn't want them.

Justice MH: This is the type of party that's hypocritical in so many ways. GOPs love to point fingers at Former President Bill Clintion, but at least he was honest. Bill didn't front about it. The GOP always wants to play morality police, and claim how they stand for moral and family values. This party is NOT fit to lead this country. The Democratic Party isn't perfect, but they send the message that everyone deserves equal rights and wants to move the country forward. Alexyss K Tylor responds on her show to critics on her video warning for gay boys. I agree with everything she said. We need information on what goes on in the Black straight and black gay community.

We, as black people, try to turn our heads and look the other way when we think a teenager is gay, but we don't know that it's exactly what the predators want. They want the parents and family to be in denial so that it will make it easier for them to get the young boys. However, if the parents are active in the boy's social life the will be able to screen who the boy is dating. Not to screen their dates and far as only dating girls, but screen them as far as dating boys.

I also agree with her that black women deserve to know more about black gay men and the community. It's everyone's business to understand one another better.

The Aids and HIV virus is destroying our people, and we have to do everything we can to stop the high rates.

Black women have to stop assuming when they get AIDS or HIV that the man does not have to be gay or bi for them to get it. There are situations like that, but not all of them. You can get the virus through unprotected heterosexual sex/drugs. The same for gay sex.

It's all about responsibility. Black men have theirs, but so do black women. The victim card is getting old and used up. Black women must protect themselves, and know everything they can about their sex partners. Like Alexyss Tylor said: that's your vagina, not his! There are female comdems . If he doesn't want to use a comdem, then no pu**y for him. Responsibility is the key.

Sexual Orientation and Sexual Identity Conflict:

As Alexyss points out there is a sexual orientation and sexual identity conflict in the black community. There are reason for that. If the black community was more comfortable in letting people be themselves, then people would know who they and be fine with that. Another reason is telling children at young ages what they are, the goals, and standards that must be met. How could I forget the ridiculous religion factor? Yes, religion plays a role as well. The arguments against gays and lesbians are ridiculous and silly. Now wonder we have closet cases/DL men and women walking around. This conflict in sexuality/sexual orientation must end, but it may continue for many years to come.

Also labeling AIDS/HIV as a gay diease is silly and ridiculous. We have straights, gays, and bi-sexuals being affected by this diease. It's nothing but ignorance as usual. Scape-goating gays on this issue will not help the problem, but add more myths. Yes, white gay men were first in America to be tested on this. However, where the diease came from is still a mystery. So, we have to educate and be responsible on this issue to decrease people of color's HIV rates. Knowledge responsiblity is the key!

New Orleans: Two years after Katrina

It has been two year since Hurricane Katrina flooded New Orleans, and displaced thousands of New Orleanians. The French Quarter hasn't been touched, and business is the usual there. However, much of the Gulf Region remain in ruins, and devastation.

Billions of money designated to the effort is not getting to those in need -- 42% of funds set aside for rebuilding and relief has not even been spent. The federal H2B "guestworker" visa program was set up for employers to hire people for the rebuilding effort. Because of the lack of oversight, abuse or workers, kidnapping and even modern-day slavery is occuring on the Gulf Coast.

The Institute for Southern Studies has published Blueprint for Gulf Renewal: The

Katrina Crisis and a Community Agenda for Action.

"On September 15, 2005, President Bush pledged that our nation would "do what it takes, and stay as long as it takes," to rebuild the Gulf Coast. Yet over 60,000 people are still in "temporary" FEMA trailers, and houses, hospitals and schools across the region remain shuttered. For thousands of people, the Katrina recovery has failed.

The study, published in collaboration with Oxfam America and the Jewish Funds for Justice, looks at 80 statistical indicators and draws on interviews with more than 40 Gulf Coast leaders to identify roadblocks to recovery, and ways federal leaders can tackle critical needs in the region like housing, jobs and coastal protection.

The study also features "Where did the Katrina money go?" -- an in-depth analysis of federal Katrina spending since 2005. The Institute reveals that, out of the $116 billion in Katrina funds allocated, less than 30% has gone towards long-term rebuilding -- and less than half of that 30% has been spent, much less reached those most in need".

Hypocritical GOP Sen.Larry Craig denies being gay!!!

I'm back, and it's time to catch up on hypocritical GOP news.

Homophobic Senator Larry Craig (R-ID), who pleaded guilty on August 8 to a disorderly conduct charge after his arrest in the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in June. In video he denies being gay, and claim he never was. Oh really?? In a bathroom looking oral sex etc. Sorry Larry, when you're doing that it mean you're not 100% heterosexul.

The Past hunts Sen.Craig back in the 1990s:

"The most serious finding by the Statesman was the report by a professional man with close ties to Republican officials. The 40-year-old man reported having oral sex with Craig at Washington's Union Station, probably in 2004. The Statesman also spoke with a man who said Craig made a sexual advance toward him at the University of Idaho in 1967 and a man who said Craig "cruised" him for sex in 1994 at the REI store in Boise".

I don't get these gay/bi republicans. They never learn! There is still more closet doors to be busted open in this hypocritical GOP party.

Sen. Craig's Future:

"His future in doubt, allies denouncing his behavior and former staffers voicing disbelief at his arrest, Senator Larry Craig, R-Idaho, is expected to hold a press conference this afternoon that may answer questions about his political future.
..."If the accusations are true, then we think that he needs to resign," Bryan Fischer, the executive director of the Idaho Values Alliance told ABCNews.com. "We believe that character is an important qualification for public service and we believe if these accounts are true, then the Senator conduct has fallen short of what we should expect from public officials."

Justice MH: I'm just loving this. The GOP love to claim their party stands for moral and family values. However, when their pants are caught down [pun intended], then it's just a little boo-boo! When Democrats have a scandal then GOPs come with self-righteous attitude, and finger-pointing. The GOP is going wild, and slowly decaying inside of it's standards. This is the latest GOP to get caught crusing. The same routine is apologize for conduct, moment of shame, and then wait till we all forget and drama is over. Until the next GOP that is! Barak Obama appeared on LOGO and HRC’s presidential debate Thursday August 9. All of the candidates were asked about marriage equality for LGBT people. Although he is for full civil union rights, Obama feels he cannot open the door of equality all the way with full marriage rights for LGBT people. But even his moderate stance gets a berating from Bishop Jackson.

When speaking to a group of black ministers at a forum in Tennessee, Barak stated:

“I specifically pointed out that if there’s any pastor here who can point out a marriage that has been broken up as a consequence of seeing two men or two women holding hands, then we—you should tell me, because I haven’t seen any evidence of it…And there are some folks who, coming out of the church, have, you know, elevated one line in Romans above the Sermon on the Mount.”

Jackson’s response: “He’s dead wrong concerning what the scriptures say, and more importantly, he’s dead wrong in terms of the Scriptures, and in terms of reading culture. The culture has gone in a different direction, and the devaluation of marriage is a major problem, and I believe that he’s a very dangerous man because he sounds reasonable, he sounds engaging, but he’s misinformed.” Jackson goes on to call Obama a “junior or infant Christian.”

He states that “I think what most African- Americans buy is that there should be justice for all, in terms of the outworking of civil law. What they do not buy is that we should not rename sin as something righteous and holy.”

Bishop Jackson is dead wrong. It is Jackson who has an infantile understanding of human sexuality and a wrong headed theology regarding Christ’s message of inclusion. Jackson does not understand, or refuses to understand the concept of sexual orientation. Sexual orientation is morally neutral.

One of the definitions of the word “sin” is “to miss the mark”. Jackson misses the mark of the Love ethic for his gay and lesbian neighbors, which is central to Christian theology. When Bishop Jackson came to NBJC’s Black Church Summit this past Spring, he had the opportunity to look LGBT people in the eye and hear their stories of love, commitment, devotion, honor and duty. He nodded his head acting as if he understood. He acted as if he had learned something. Unfortunately, from his behavior and statements since that day, it was all just an act.

We should defer to an authentic Biblical scholar, Rev. Peter Gomes the Plummer Professor of Christian Morals at Harvard University, who writes: “No credible case against homosexuality or homosexuals can be made from the Bible unless one chooses to read scripture in a way that simply sustains the existing prejudice against homosexuality and homosexuals. The combination of ignorance and prejudice under the guise of morality makes the religious community, and its abuse of scripture in this regard, itself morally culpable.”

If Bishop Jackson ever thought he might be a drum major for justice, he has missed he mark.

Remember the woman who said she's attracted to the spirit of Christ. As I like to put it spirits and ghosts. In my personal view she allow guilt and shame to allow herswlf to be told who and what she is, and what's her purpose.

"You And I Both Know": America's Black Homophobia Problem

"You and I both know that there is a homophobia problem in the black community." So began Washington Post editor Jonathan Capehart's question to Barack Obama during the HRC/Logo gay-issues debate last night. This question of Obama appears to both assume the universality of homophobia within the black community, and require Obama to situate himself in relation to it. Capehart's question continued with a discussion of Obama's willingness to speak difficult truths to the black community regarding other sensitive topics that might, from another mouth, look like a claim of black dysfunction. Capehart's "you and I both know"-- an attempt to play on their shared blackness, I guess -- easily morphs into "we all know"/"everybody knows" that the black community is homophobic; "we all know" that black ministers (all black ministers) are homophobic. More than the problem of Capehart's question, however, was the way in which Obama's answer simply accepted the premise. His answer never challenged the assumption behind what "we" have come to so easily accept about "black homophobia". Obama gave examples of the courage that he has shown by speaking to presumably hostile straight audiences at Howard University and in black churches in the South, without ever acknowledging the fact that these communities are not uniform on issues of same-sex equality. Capehart's and Obama's statements were made without regard to the consistent record of support that the Congressional Black Caucus has given to equality issues within the LGBT community. Such statements also fail to recognize the diversity of thought within black religious communities, including Jeremiah Wright, Obama's own pastor, who has been a leading light on issues of same-sex inclusion.

Perhaps more problematic (and heartening) was a question by the event's host, who asked Obama -- and only Obama -- to compare the black struggle for civil rights with the gay struggle for civil rights. Obama, I think, answered this question with as much honesty and intelligence as it could be answered, and then challenged the questioner to ask the question of the other candidates, not simply the black candidate. Unfortunately, no other candidate was asked the question. Again, this leads to the conclusion that Obama is being handled differently because we have concluded that there is such a species of dysfunction known as "black homophobia," wholly separate from, and more pernicious than, ordinary homophobia. It would be foolish and insensitive to deny that the black community's response to homosexuality does not have culturally particularized elements. Yet to listen to Capehart, one would think that homophobia is a uniquely black dysfunction, against which Obama had better be prepared to situate himself. Do we speak of Methodist homophobia with Hillary Clinton? Or Catholic homophobia with Biden? Do we force any other candidate, even Bill Richardson, to situate himself in relation to homophobia in the Hispanic community? Not that I have seen.

Finally, the obsession with this characterization of black homophobia, I suspect, is rooted in a desire to locate for the record the limits of the black community's commitment to an egalitarian social-political order. Evidence of the qualified nature of the black community's commitment to equality allows others to justify their equivocation on the issue of equality, not simply the equality of gays and lesbians, but about other marginalized communities as well. Like so much in this presidential campaign, Obama serves as a convenient canvas upon which to further depict the dysfunctions of black folk. There is a homophobia problem in the black community, but there is a homophobia problem in the Congress, and on the Supreme Court, and in the White House. Indeed, America has a homophobia problem. It is against this homophobia problem that any candidate deserving of the LGBT community's support should aim his or her attention.

Justice MH: What was said above i agree with most of it. Homophobia exists in every community, and society. The world is homophobic. After full equality for LGBT people is achieved, like racism, homophobia will still be there, just NOT out in the open as much. A Presidential Hopeful should focus on homophobia as a American problem, not as a one section of our country's problem! I like many right-thinking Americans should question homophobia, racism, sexism, and religious intolerance. Change is possible!

Draft??? Hell NO!!!

One of President Bush Lt. officers says:In order to maintain current troop levels in Iraq, "it makes sense to certainly consider" a military draft, says Lt. Gen. Douglas Lute.

The draft “has always been an option on the table, but ultimately, this is a policy matter between meeting the demands for the nation’s security by one means or another," the general says, noting this is "a national policy decision point that we have not yet reached," Lute added.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards criticized the suggestion. "Instead of ending this war and doing what is right for our troops, their families and the nation," he said. "President Bush is floating the idea of a draft that would send more young Americans to Iraq."

President Bush insists that it's NOT on his agenda. Well, we'll see! I love my country, but this is BUSH's WAR! I will NOT fight it. It's time like this, it feels good to be gay. Yes, because Don't ask Don't tell policy is still kicking, but it's senseless, and needs to be repeal. If they want a straight army, then fine have it that way! However, there are LGBT people fighting this unjust, senseless, abnomniable and godless war! Like Hillary Clinton said: You don't have to be straight to shoot straight!

B.Scott once again keeps it real with so-called "reformed homosexuals". One thing B.Scott and Justice MH agree is sexual orientation is innate. If you're heterosexual than you can't change that. If you're a homosexual, than you can't change that! It doesn't work how you want it to!

There are groups like Exdous groups that promote pray-away-the-gay materials and methods to cause so-called change!

The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: Mega Church Pastor Edition

One of our favorite mega-church pastors is in the news…again.

The Dr. Reverend Fred K.C. Price has announced a lawsuit against ABC, Walt Disney Co., and others for a “20/20” report that made him look like he lives an extravagant lifestyle. Yes, this is for real.

You may remember previous postings on Price that included his decision in 2005 to host a gathering of one hundred Black pastors at his Crenshaw Christian Center with the conservative Traditional Values Coalition’s Lou Sheldon. During that meeting, Price who for the most of his career has steered clear of politics, urged the pastors to have their congregations lobby African-American legislators to vote against marriage rights for same-gender loving couples.

Then there was the time we all went down to City Hall in Los Angeles to speak against making taxpayers, which include lesbians and gays, pay for a street sign dedicated in his honor. While we won that battle, the sign went up anyway, it just wasn’t paid for out of our pockets.

Price’s lawsuit is the product of “20/20” broadcast headlined “Enough,” where the supposedly extravagant lifestyles of wealthy ministers — based upon them secretly spending their congregation’s donations on themselves, a topic we love here at jasmynecannick.com.

And for the record, Price does live in the ritzy neighborhood Palos Verdes, miles away from his church which is situated on the heart of South Los Angeles. Add to that his two Bentley’s. The lawsuit reads that Price’s salary, which church officials declined to disclose, is “commensurate with his duties.” Yeah, you can believe that if you want too. While your parishioners are scrapping together their coins for blessings from you, you’re living at the top of hill bringing home anywhere from six to seven figures. Go figure?

I think that the same rule that applies to politicians should be extended to pastors, live where your church is. My folks from Los Angeles know that Palos Verdes is no where near his church and that the number of Blacks living in PV are far and few between, primarily because homes there start in the millions and quite frankly most of ain’t rolling like that.

In question is an excerpt that aired in the “20/20” broadcast that featured a sermon where talks about living in a “25-room mansion, I have my own $6 million yacht, I have my own private jet and I have my own helicopter and I have seven luxury automobiles.” Price is supposedly using all those things as an example and not speaking on his own life.

The “20/20” piece aired on ABC back in May and since then Price has been working overtime to do damage control, even putting a video on Youtube.com questioning the ABC piece. ABC has issued two retractions but that isn’t good enough for Price, he wants money, or should I say more of it.

Price isn’t alone. He’s one of many Black pastors that do what I call “pimp the pulpit.”

It is my assumption that ABC’s piece drastically affected Price’s weekly intake at his church thus throwing him into a tizzy causing him too sue for the money he’s losing. And for that, well, we’ll just have to wait and see what the outcome of the lawsuit is.

There will be no sympathy from me for Price or any other pastor that lives like royalty while their parishioners are barely making ends meet.

Justice MH: Amen Jasmyne! Mega-Church pastors are really making that cash. I'm really NO fan of this Rev. Price! He looks greedy, and a wolf in sheep clothing. It's NOT right to use hard-earn money to buy yourself big expensive cars, and rich looking house! All I can say is they use their bully-pit as i like to call it as their instrument for money, fame, and condemnation! As Jasmyne said it's nothing but a job to " pimp the pulpit"!

Is This Really A Win For Gay Rights?

I like Deb Price, but her current commentary entitled, "Pentagon thaws on banning open gays," strikes me as her, and so many other LGBT people and allies, as rejoicing for winning a tragic "victory." By repealing DADT, it is viewed that Congress, and the American people in general, are becoming more accepting of gay and lesbian people. I certainly don't see it that way!
In a time of an unjust war that has helped fuel largely world-wide contempt for us and our military policies; when the military is stretched so thin that it is at a breaking point; when a Draft is not politically possible, given the fact that the Administration fully knows that if there was a Draft there would be hundreds of thousands, if not more, very angry people marching on Washington demanding an end to this unjust war; given the fact that ex-felons have been necessary recruits to shore up a weakened military stretched to a breaking point, given its involvement in the war in Iraq, as well as the military involvement we have in other parts of the world, now Gay people are being considered to be further potential cannon fodder to the political-military machine. So, the priority of Congress and the Military has been to favor convicted criminals to join the military rather than allow openly Gay people to join, and make the military a career, if they so chose.

As Deb Price wrote in her commentary: "On July 31, the Republican Collins, hinting she's open to repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell, framed her question during Mullen's confirmation hearing in terms of a military so 'strained' that deployments are longer, convicted criminals are recruited, and linguists are in short supply."

So, the message really is the following: "We need more bodies. We can't institute a Draft because there will then be such mass revulsion directed against us that we will be forced to leave Iraq, as we did with Viet Nam, with our tails between our legs; those who voted to support this war (which is virtually every politician) will be voted out of office; it doesn't look good for us to recruit convicted criminals into our military, and by so doing, decent young people won't want to join, and we desperately need more bodies, so let's allow the Gays to join. Then, when the war is over (whenever that is), and we really don't need them anymore, we can then do our best to drum them out of the military."

For Gay people to be allowed to join the Armed Services and serve openly, during these times of war when bodies are desperately needed, and when linguists are desperately needed, I don't consider it a victory for DADT to be repealed, now allowing, out of political and military desperation, openly Gay people to become candidates for becoming cannon fodder, absent full and equal civil rights being accorded to LGBT people.

If repealing DADT were merely one part of a Civil Rights package that fully granted civil rights to Gay people, that would be one thing. However, just to repeal DADT absent the granting of full and equal civil rights to Gay people, strikes me as just being a cruel joke masked as a "victory" for Gay people.

Justice MH: I think this is a victory for LGBT Americans. For one, 79% of America wants DADT to be repeal, and allow openly gay Americans to serve. In Congress the support is in the majority, and steadily growing! This opens will dialogue on many LGBT issues to advance equality for LGBT people. This debate on DADT will help show that these troops are human who just happen to be gay! This will be without a doubt a victory!

Openly Gay Bishop Gene Robinson endorses Barak Obama!

America's first openly gay Episcopal bishop, New Hampshire's Gene Robinson, yesterday endorsed presidential hopeful Sen.Barack Obama.

Robinson says he was lured to Obama's campaign because of the Illinois Democrat's experience with racism and discrimination.
Robinson says he hopes to persuade Obama to embrace marriage for gay and lesbian couples.
Obama supports civil unions and rights for gay couples, but stops short of supporting gay marriage.
Robinson has drawn worldwide criticism from conservatives since his consecration as bishop in 2003.

Bishop Gene Robinson made pretty good choice in Obama. Anybody's better than Bush, even Rudy Giuliani. I already knew the GOP lacks gay support. GOP is already hypocritical with sex scandal, lies, and cheating. I haven't made my choice yet. It's either, Hillary, Obama, or Edwards on the Dems side. On the GOP just Rudy Giuliani. My Choice will be made known in 2008!

WBC Says: God Hates the USA!

The Phelps Family really think they know God. The sad thing about their perception about God is it comes from the Old Testament. The Hebrew Bible perception of God is up for a new perception, which there are many perceptions of God. So, how can the Phelps interpret the Minnesota Bridge disaster as God hating America? For Cafeteria Christian they love to use derogatory names to describe gays, that sure isn't Christ-like! They honestly believe they are giving people God's Word. I find that laughable! It's no secret that Man has always use God and hide behind God to express their evil thinking/feelings. Jesus said you would know them by their fruit. The Phelps Family happens to produce rotten fruit. God doesn't hate. The Phelps Family hates the USA, Canada, Sweden, and the World! Man hates, NOT God!

Alan Chambers Pt.1: The Opposite of Homosexuality!

According to Alan Chambers the opposite of homosexuality isn't heterosexuality. I know that's what I thought. However, Alan says it's holiness. OK, now I've heard everything. Here's how he tells his audience what to expect of so-called "change":

And I’m going to shatter your world here: heterosexuality shouldn't’t be your number one goal. Whether that’s for yourself or for your kid or for your loved one or your friend or your family member. Heterosexuality shouldn't’t have been my number one goal. The opposite of homosexuality isn’t heterosexuality. It’s holiness.

And I think we in the church often get that wrong. We think, okay, the best thing for this person who’s involved with homosexuality or involve with lesbianism is that they come out of that lifestyle and go into heterosexuality. If that’s all we think is necessary, we’re setting people up for a terrible fall. The opposite of homosexuality isn’t heterosexuality. It’s holiness.

Ok! What i don't get is, isn't that the purpose of some people's so-called unwanted same-sex desires? I mean if isn't heterosexuality, then it's holiness. Justice MH, and other gay bloggers know when he says holiness, he's implying that some-how in his struggling[still gay] brain that homosexuality is wicked. It also reinforces a larger theme of the conference, that homosexuality is incompatible with Christianity. Which it isn't, of course some think and feel that way. So casting homosexuality on the same side of the spectrum as wickedness is a terribly damaging way to characterize the lives of gays and lesbians everywhere. Besides, heterosexuality is not, in and of itself, holy either.

According to Alan, same sex attractions may not necessarily diminish no matter how hard one tries or how many prayers are said. Instead, the “change” that takes place is not a change in sexual orientation; it’s a change in faith. The “conversion” is not sexual orientation conversion, it’s a religious one. Alan, those like him, may feel holy, but it doesn't change sexual orientation. I'm just using Alan's words and logic. If the opposite of homosexuality is NOT heterosexuality. Then how can you say you're a heterosexual? Alan says he identify as "straight". Alan is so contradicting and inconsistent with himself and his audience. So according Alan, do we have a new minority coming up called the holies?

This reminds me of what Ex-gay Charlene Cothran said when interviewed with blogger Clay Cane:Are you physically attracted to men?
Charlene: [pauses] I am physically attracted to the spirit of Christ right now. You're trying to take me down a road that I won't go down right now.

Now I really don't have a problem with Elizabeth Hasslebeck, but to be honest when she first started, she was kindy boring. After her recent confrontation with former View co-host Rosie, hasselbeck started to get interesting to watch.

Now Hasselbeck is a conservative, but after her response on Marriage Equality, she says who's really destroying marriage was refreshing, and the very thing I have been saying on this blog throughout the year!

I'm sure Rosie would be proud, and other conservatives are losing their so-called moral minds after hearing this. Hasselbeck really hits the mark.

Again:Bush likely to prevent aides' testimony to Congress

I have been watching this go on these past months, and wonder what's to hide if you're innocent? What has those who voted for Bush as their Dear Leader is hiding from Congress and the people? Bush's administration is so corrupt it's ashamed, and on the level of treason!

Thursday is the deadline for Karl Rove, Bush's top political adviser, to provide testimony and documents related to the firings, under a subpoena from the Senate Judiciary Committee. Also subpoenaed was White House political aide J. Scott Jennings. The Justice Department included both men on e-mails about the firings and the administration's response to the congressional investigation.
White House Counsel Fred Fielding has consistently said that top presidential aides — present and past — are immune from subpoenas and has declared the documents sought off-limits under executive privilege.

Ok! This whole executive privilege is a joke. He comes up with this: executive privilege, to get away with his sneaky ways. Bush has gotten away with alot in these last 7 years. I don't why Congress just doesn't impeach him. One reason is that Cheney would be worse. The GOP's joke of a impeach trail on Bill Clinton was insane over a blow-job. Democratic Congress Vs. President Bush

On spending matters, the Democrats and Bush appeared to get nowhere in their breakfast meeting.
Bush has threatened vetoes or signaled veto threats against most of the 12 annual spending bills for the budget year beginning Oct. 1. The differences between Bush and Congress involve $23 billion in funding — a gap that the Democrats call small, and the White House portrays as wasteful.

Here's a look at the status of support for marriage equality in America. There is a slight majority, but soon the minority will become the majority!

Pew Research :: 37% Support Gay Marriage

Fewer than four-in-ten Americans (37%) support gay marriage, while 55% are opposed; support had dipped to 29% in an August 2004 poll, after peaking at 38% in July 2003.

Since 2004, support has fluctuated between 33% and 39%.

Gay marriage is opposed by most groups in the population; exceptions include young people ages 18-29 (56% support), liberal Democrats (72%), and secular individuals (60%).

Democrats continue to be divided on the question (49% support, 43% oppose); Republicans overwhelmingly oppose gay marriage (75% vs. 20% support), with 51%
strongly opposed.

Republicans are playing politics as usual for votes, but the gay cards is wearing out for them, and they know it! The Democrats are still struggling with this issue. As you saw above young people, my generation is more supportive of marriage equality. The reasons for that is because they either have gay family members or gay friends. So the next adult Americans coming up will be more supportive! It will be a new day in American!

About 64 percent of you said, "No. Most Christians believe it's wrong, and if you see people going down the wrong path, you should try to save them."

About 7 percent of you said, "I don't know."

We also asked you, "Is homosexuality a choice or natural preference?"

About 61 percent of you said, "It's a choice."

About 24 percent of you said, "It's a natural preference. You're born that way."

Justice MH: Should I be surprise that 61% believe homosexuality is choice? No. There is still alot of work to be done on this important issue. The ones in the 64% group say that we need saving. From what? From being who we are, and living in truth! It's amazing how some people will tell others that their path, who they are, and who they love is wrong. You can't get much hypocritical than that. I wonder how the poll would have turn out if heterosexuality was being question? I bet there would be some sort of difference. Over 20% said religion should be about peace and tolerance. The black church continues to do the opposite. Some zealot black preacher take couple of bible verses out context, and hammer their gay church members into low-self esteem, and closet case mode. We have cross the river on race, but there is still one more river to cross on sexual orientation!

And they want to say this hate crimes bill is unnecessary. Yeah right!Tell that to the family of Kenneth Cummings Jr., a Southwest flight attendant, who was killed by a man who believed he was doing God's work. Religion creates some crazy people, but that's religion for you, when there's no reason! {Houston Chronicle}:

"I believe I'm Elijah, called by God to be a prophet," said 26-year-old Terry Mark Mangum, charged with murder June 11. " ... I believe with all my heart that I was doing the right thing."
Interviewed in the Brazoria County Jail Saturday morning, Mangum said he feels no remorse for killing 46-year-old Kenneth Cummings Jr., whom relatives described as a "loving" son who never forgot a holiday and a devoted uncle who had set up college funds for his niece and nephew. He worked at Southwest for 24 years.

Mangum, who described himself as "definitely not a homosexual," said God called on him to "carry out a code of retribution" by killing a gay man because "sexual perversion" is the "worst sin."

Mangum believed Cummings to be gay.

"I planned on sending him to hell," he said.

Cummings was stabbed with a six-inch blade, his body was found near San Antonio on property owned by Mangum's grandfather.

While there are some who are debating about whether there should be hate crimes law, the fact is their on the books. So why not sexual orientation and gender identity to make sure every American is protected by bias hate crimes. Religion is already included-- protection which these cafeteria Christians aren't willing to give up. After all religion is a choice!

Furthermore, it's the religious extremists who claim to be "christian", by their mouths, but it always seems their hearts are far away from God. Isaiah and Jesus said something like that. The usual suspects are no surprise--the Traditional Values Coalition, the American Family Association, Concerned Women for America and the rest of the professional persecuted "Christian" set-- who just love to hide behind and use misguided homo-hating black pastors.

Rustin Thomas came up with this insane statement:
Yes, I dare state that there is a direct connection between the sins and crimes of abortion and the sodomite agenda and the Islamic terrorism that threatens our nation."

Once again sodomite is NOT a biblical term, and I have never been to Sodom and Gomorrah. The two cities God supposedly destroyed.

"Pastors not only have a right, but they have an obligation to state emphatically that according to scripture, a man or a woman should not perform a sex act with a person of the same sex...nor with a dog...nor with a snake...nor with a hamster or any other creature."

How the hell he bring humans in with animals? Who would have sex with hamster, snake, or dog? I have heard of a dog before, but that's just freaky! Eww.

They know that they can quote and take Leviticus and Romans out context all day long if the measure is passed. The ACLU has outlined how free speech will be protected, but no that doesn't matter in their minds. Is this Doing God's Work? Ha, You better ask somebody!

So Much for the American Family Association's anti-gay Ford boycott , it really seems to be working?

Job cuts, slimmer losses in North America and good sales overseas helped Ford Motor Co. post surprise second-quarter earnings Thursday of $750 million, its first profitable quarter in two years.

So much for your blame-game on the gays for Fords decline on success in the markets. You really need to resolve your personal problems, and stop attacking the gays for your personal issues. Ford will continue it's support for gay-related events, so get over it.

Yes, I'm back from my short vacation. The "big easy" New Orleans was great to see, along with some family. The city still has long way to go, to be rebuild that is. These last five days have been busy, fun, depressing, and restful. At last, I'm back home in the ATL. If i had a laptop i would have updated a couple of days ago, but it's all good. NBJC Debuts "The Power of Us"

This Sunday July 22, 2007, The National Black Justice Coalition will debut it's new national media campaign called "The Power Of Us"!

The Power of Us is a bold, daring, and savvy nationwide campaign to highlight Black LGBT couples, families, high profile activists, religious and spiritual leaders, organizers, artists, designers and more. The new national campaign the Power of Us designed to display positive and uplifting messages and images that embrace, celebrate, and promote the talent, brilliance, and contributions, that Black SGL/LGBT people are making in America. This is a much-needed national campaign to show positive images of black gay men, especially as couples, that are show in the general media or gay media.

Also being honored is a woman I have so much respect for, and that woman is Jasmyne Cannick. Jasmyne's final duty as a board member will come to an end at the debut of the new media campaign "The Power Of Us"!

The event is planned to take place at a private home on Sunday, July 22 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

N.C Black Pastor asks why religion is being used to deny marriage to gays and lesbians!!!

Rev. Reggie Longcrier, pastor of Exodus Missionary Outreach Church in Hickory, N.C.:submitted a question on marriage equality for the CNN's YouTube Presidential debate. The video is short, but powerful, and simple. The Rev.Longcrier's question was directed to former N.C. Senator John Edwards because of his statement that he is unable at this time to "cross that bridge" to support marriage equality. His wife Elizabeth is waiting on the other side of bridge, of course, since she favors the right of gays and lesbians to marry.

Rev.Regggie said:Sen. Edwards has said his opposition to gay marriage has been influenced by his Southern Baptist background. We know religion was once used to justify slavery, segregation and women not being allowed to vote, all of which today are recognized as unconstitutional and socially and morally wrong. So why is it still acceptable to use religion to justify denying gay and lesbian American their full and equal rights.

This country will see marriage for gays, it wil become reality.

Pro-LGBT Black Clergy Ad tells the Truth about Federal Hate Crimes Legislation!!!

In response to the ads run by anti-gay black ministers fronted by Bishop Harry Jackson of the High Impact Leadership Coalition, which appeated in USA Today spreading disinformation about the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act, a group of pro-LGBT pastors have responded in kind.

In a new ad appearing in USA Today, the National Black Justice Coalition, Human Rights Campaign and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, black religious leaders counter the claim of the puppets/uncle toms of the white evangelical/conservative bigots, that the passage of the measure would muzzle pastors like Jackson from spouting homophobic sermons from the pulpit.

Bishop Jackson clearly thinks gays are taking over as he expressed those feeling in his Town Hall article:

G]ay activists around the country are getting nervous that they are about to experience an embarrassing political setback. Instead of amending the hate crimes legislation that protects churches in a substantive way, they are simply crying out in a louder, more threatening manner. Gay advocates are not looking for fairness; they are looking for an upper hand.

A recent Gallup poll showed that 68% of Americans support adding sexual orientation and gender identity to the existing hate crimes laws, this is the kind of misinformation that Harry Jackson and his homo-hating friends in the pulpit give us:

Justice MH: As Bishop Carlton Pearson said: the bill clearly states,"Nothing in this act, or the amendments made by this Act, shall be construed to prohibit any expressive conduct protected from legal prohibition by, or any activities protected by the free speech or free exercise clauses the First Amendment to the Constitution" the hate crime bill says. Unfortunately, free speech, and the bible is NOT the real reason they oppose the expansion of the federal hate crimes statue. These black bigots put a new meaning to "bearing false witness", and they know their free speech is NOT threaten. The real reason they oppose this bill, in my opinion, is that the more pro-LGBT bills pass on the federal level than sooner or later it will not be popular to hate and oppose a minority's rights. The Cafeteria bible thumping bigots held their misguided press conference protesting the hate crimes bill. They continue to bear false witness that adding sexual orientation and gender identity to the existing law will threaten their religious freedom. The U.S Constitution and the hate crime bill itself strengthens free speech, but it appears they really don't care. It's all about denying others the right to federal protections from violence. These Cafeteria Christians also offered some new terms in how they describe gays as sodomy pushers. So add "sodomy pushers" to your gay dictionary. Let's see "gay agenda", homosexual agenda, sodomite, gay lifestyle, and homosexual lifestyle. Yup, that sounds like their language.

Here's what this Cafeteria Christian had to say:

"They insist that the government police the thoughts of those who have a natural attraction to the opposite sex," he offered as explanation of his assertion. "It's as if they despise and hate heterosexual couples." And the controversy, he insisted, is not about what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms. "It's about what others disapprove -- and when someone is doing the unmentionable in their bedroom, flaunting it publicly, and then punishing those who speak out against it."
Offering an analogy, Hunter said "just because a bank robber counts the money in the privacy of his bedroom does not legitimize the robbery."

Justice MH: Ok, so this fool uses the analogy of gays and bank robbery? How the hell you compare a criminal and an American citizen who is guarantee equal right under the law, no matter how much he bitches about it! He goes on to say gays are heterophobic? LOL! Larwd, I'm not going there. I think the real struggle we face when it comes to moral rot in this country is dealing with the fact that we have to wait until January 2009 for all the morally and ethically depraved criminals in the Bush Administration, who have left us more vulnerable to terrorism, finally get out of the White House. That place needs to be fumigated after their departure. The people who elected Dear Leader -- fundies like the above surely cast their votes for him based on "values" -- are blind when it comes to the litany of lies and obfuscation perpetrated by the Bush administration.

Dear Abby: Mother learns to accept Gay son!!!

Justice MH: A mother learns to love and respect her son for who he is. Better late than never!

Dear Abby: My husband and I raised our two sons and two daughters. One son and both daughters married well. Our other son, “Neil,” is gay. He and his partner, “Ron,” have been together 15 years, but Neil’s father and I never wanted to know Ron because we disapproved of their lifestyle.

When I was 74, my husband died, leaving me in ill health and nearly penniless. No longer able to live alone, I asked my married son and two daughters if I could “visit” each of them for four months a year. (I thought living out of a suitcase would be best for everyone.) All three turned me down.

When Neil and Ron heard what had happened, they invited me to live with them. They welcomed me into their home, and removed a wall between two rooms so I’d have a bedroom with a private bath and sitting room. They also include me in many of their plans. Since I moved in with them, I have traveled more than I have my whole life. They never mention that they are supporting me, or that I ignored them.

When old friends ask how it feels living with my gay son, I tell them I hope they’re lucky enough to have one who will take them in one day. Please continue urging your readers to accept their children as they are. My only regret is that I wasted 15 years. – Grateful Mom

Dear Grateful Mom: You are fortunate to have such a loving, generous and forgiving son. Sexual orientation is not a measure of anyone’s humanity or worth. Thank you for pointing out how important it is that people respect each other for who they are, not what we would like them to be.

Justice MH's Final Thoughts: Abby told it like it is. This mother could learn this lesson alot sooner. She would have seen her same old son, and that who he loves doesn't matter. If it's male/female or male/male or female/female it's all beautiful. Love is always proper, and God is love too! This mother is bless with a son who happen to be gay, who takes care of her, and didn't hold any negativity towards her. This mother has showed how important it is that people respect each other for who they are, not what we would like them to be!

Breaking News: U.S Senate to vote on Hate crimes Bill Tonight?

Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) offered the Senate hate crimes bill, the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Act, as an amendment to the Department of Defense Reauthorization bill currently being debated on the Senate floor. The House of Representatives version of the bill passed with strong bipartisan support on May 3. The Senate bill, S. 1105, could be voted on as early as today.

The right wing is in high gear on Capitol Hill today to fight the bill's passage and Senate leaders need to hear strong - and repeated - messages of support for the hate crimes bill from our side.

My question is: Is this about free speech or about denying those on basis of sexual orientation, gender identity/disability to be protected on the federal hate crimes level?

The Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Act clearly says it uphold the first amendment to protect and strengthen free speech including religious speech.
So I'm hoping the U.S Senators vote with strong bi-partisan, and send the bill to be sign by Bush. I'll have more updates on this as they become available.
