U.S Senate passes Hate Crime Bill!!

The Democratic-Control Senate passed the hate crimes bill as an amendment to the Defense bill for the Iraq War. In a 60-39 vote to proceed to adoption, the Senate approved Senator Kennedy's amendment which adds sexual orientation, gender identity and disability to the existing hate crimes legislation.

Democrats in their 51 majority supported the bill. Only 9 Republicans move across the line to support the amendment.

U.S Senate expected to vote on Hate Crimes Bill this Thursday!!!

The time is here. The slim Democratic-control Senate is expected to vote on S. 1105-Matthew Shepard Act. Chris Johnson at HRC Back Story reports that Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) filed a cloture motion to force a vote on S. 1105.We need 60 votes in order to override the objection filed by Sen.John MCcain.The hate crimes bill was tacked onto the defense authorization bill to get it pass our misguided controlled President Bush.

Lead sponsor of the Senate bill, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) released a statement of his floor speech urging passage of S. 1105. I would like to note here that there are Republicans supporting this bill, not just Democrats.

As we prepare for a showdown over this bill, expect the scare tactics and nonsense from the so-called oppress Christians, who fear their rights are being taken aways.
Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson is at it again with the nonsense (where was he and his black bigoted Friends at on free Jena 6 march?). Read his latest quotes on the hate crimes bill in a bearing false witness tone/words:

A black conservative leader is calling on Christians to contact their U.S. senators and ask them to vote against a bill that would give special rights to homosexuals and take away the rights of Christians.

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson is founder and president of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND). Peterson was recently in Washington, DC, to lobby senators to vote against Senate Bill 1105 -- a bill that would provide federal assistance for the prosecution of any crime that is "motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim." The legislation is sponsored by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Massachusetts).

According to Peterson, if S.B. 1105 ultimately passes, it would greatly affect Christians' free-speech rights. For example, Peterson contends that under the new provisions, Christian pastors could be forced to perform same-sex "marriages" -- and if they refuse, Petersen is convinced they will be criminalized and fined.

Now he know he sound like a drama queen, and a lieing one at that. There many racist christian groups and white supremacist groups that still have their free speech and rights. They march in parades, and register their groups. So where is he getting this from? He has presented no where in the bill where their rights's of speech is objected.

Justice MH: These are the type of blacks, white Evangelical conservative Christians love to use for their agenda. Sylvia Rhue of the National Black Justice Coalition and Cornel West have a piece in the Boston Globe that shows how hate can be disguise in a religious sheet of hypocrisy and lies:

Unfortunately, some clergy across the nation have joined together to oppose this bill in an aggressive and divisive manner. For instance, conservative African-American leaders - most notably Bishop Harry Jackson of Maryland's Hope Christian Church - have been inundating the media and faith communities with the message that this legislation will allow police to storm into worship services and arrest clergy if they speak against being gay. They make the incendiary allegation that the bill will create "thought crimes" by punishing people for thinking ill of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

The truth is that the Matthew Shepard Act protects all First Amendment rights. And, although that is a given, this bill goes out of its way to protect the free speech of ministers. Those pastors who wish to continue condemning and dehumanizing the gay community will be free to do so.

The hate crimes bill provides resources for the investigation of violent actions - not beliefs, thoughts, or words. The proposed federal statute does not punish nor prohibit free expression of one's religious beliefs. As University of Chicago law professor Geoffrey R. Stone recently concluded, "The argument of the pastors that the proposed legislation in any way threatens their right to preach their version of the Gospel is, to be frank, ridiculous."

...These preachers don't care to hear the thousands of stories of lives and communities scarred by antigay violence. And, conveniently, those who bring up the reality that the Matthew Shepard Act is a constitutional and important means to prevent antigay violence are labeled by these clergy as "anti-Christian." The good intentions of this legislation have been greeted by malice by these manipulators of fact.
The efforts of antigay preachers and their supporters is not the way to create the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision of a "Beloved Community" - where we all strive to treat each other with respect and compassion.

Southern Baptist's Richard Land Vs. Focus on the Family's James Dobson over Fred Thompson!!!

I agree with blender Pam , let's put these two in a steel-cage match, but it's nothing but a typical fundamentalist cat fight! Recently, Dr.Dobson has brought down his fiery judgment on Fred Thompson in an personal e-mail that contain his personal view of Fred:

Isn't Thompson the candidate who is opposed to a Constitutional amendment to protect marriage, believes there should be 50 different definitions of marriage in the U.S., favors McCain-Feingold, won't talk at all about what he believes, and can't speak his way out of a paper bag on the campaign trail?" Dobson wrote.

"He has no passion, no zeal, and no apparent 'want to.' And yet he is apparently the Great Hope that burns in the breasts of many conservative Christians? Well, not for me, my brothers. Not for me!"

I never thought i would do this, but i agree with Dobson. If you want to appeal to these fake Christ followers, then you have to be passionate in your zeal, dogma, bias, and intolerance. If you're not in more than one category, then Dobson won't support you.

Now Dobson has a challenger in his own ranks,Richard Land, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist, and he came to Fred's rescue:

I’ve received phone calls and emails from Southern Baptists about Senator Thompson. They are all furious at Doctor Dobson. They just feel that first of all there was a mischaracterizing of his positions. Do I wish that he supported the marriage protection amendment? Of course I do. To say that he is for 50 different views of marriage in 50 different states is a gross mischaracterization of his position. Secondly, do I wish that he attended church every Sunday? As a Baptist pastor, of course I do. But does that make him a person of unbelief? That’s harsh and unwarranted.”

Dr. Land argues that Dobson is NOT seeing Fred for what he really is. However, I agree with Dobson, something i never do, but for this one time i will. Fred is NOT conservative has he wants to appear for the conservative base. Dr.Land wants to make Fred to sound good to the conservative base of the GOP party. Read how he paints a picture of values out of Fred:

“Fred Thompson grew up in a very modest means in a small town in America just like Ronald Reagan grew up in very modest means in a small town in Illinois. You acquire not only an understanding of but a respect for everyday folk when you come from the background that you don’t get otherwise and people sense it. That this is a guy who respects me, a guy who understands that we are the backbone of this country, we are the salt of the Earth and he not only understands us, he’s one of us. He’s a successful one of us but he’s one of us and they trust a guy like that. They give a guy like that a larger margin of error. Nobody gets everything right but its core values. My assessment is that this guy is a whole much like Reagan including his Teflon quality. The press has been beating up with him for these types of gaffes and he continues to climb in the polls.”

Justice MH: Fred is NOT the saviour of the conservative base that Dr.Land so badly wants. In fact, the GOP field doesn't look like they have it together. The GOP party in my view, doesn't have control of this election in 2008. So Conservatives can keep fighting among each other Romney, Rudy, MCain, and even Fred will NOT save you!

The "View"s Co-Host Sherri Shepard": Doesn't know if earth is round or flat in the year 2007???

Sherri Shepherd has proven to me and others that when the bible is proven to be wrong or when it makes a boo-boo, then biblical perfections like sherri refuse to admit the book is wrong on this issue. Another note on those like sherri is they prove political consultants right, that Americans are easily proven to be ignorant. They vote poor leaders into office, who lead us into a senseless war like George W.Bush. I agree with fellow blogger claycane, sherri is the dumb negro of the week. I also agree with him on why do some Christans act like the bible is some accurate historical document? Well, you can call it blind faith, faith is good, but blind faith makes people believe things without enough proof or reason in it!

Majority of Americans Support Legislation for LGBT Job Protection!!!

Here's some not so surprising news. Nearly two-thirds of all American adults believe it is unfair that federal law currently allows for an employer to fire someone because they are gay or lesbian according to a new poll. Read it and weep it:

This survey continues to demonstrate that clear majorities of American adults agree that discrimination in the workplace on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity is wrong," says Out & Equal Executive Director Selisse Berry. "It is apparent that heterosexual co-workers are realizing that sexual orientation is not relevant to job performance."

In addition, more heterosexuals (88%) say they would feel indifferent or feel positively upon learning that a co-worker is gay or lesbian. About one-in-ten (12%) say they would feel negatively.

This positive response from co-workers is likely a contributing factor to the increase in the numbers of gays and lesbians who feel comfortable(2) about being open in the workplace about their sexual orientation.(3)

* In 2007, 54 percent of GLBT adults are comfortable having a photo of their spouse, partner or significant other on their desk, compared to only 34 percent in 2002 who felt this way.
* In 2007, 64 percent of GLBT adults are comfortable introducing their spouse, partner or significant other to their co-workers, compared to 50 percent in 2002 who said they would be comfortable doing this.

* 64% believe it is unfair that federal law currently allows for an employer to fire someone because they are gay or lesbian.

* 60% of heterosexual adults were not even aware that federal law does not provide protections for employees on the basis of sexual orientation.

* 79% of heterosexuals also feel that how an employee does his or her job, and not their sexual orientation, should be the standard for judging an employee.

* 67% also agree that employee performance should be the standard by which they are judged and not whether they are transgender.

Justice MH: Eat it all up homo-haters. The polls are no surprise here. The American people have always supported this legislation. The EDNA bill will come for a vote in the U.S House in early October i presumed. Traditional Values Coalition's Lou Sheldon 's scare tactics are not working at all, and not those silly cartoons about transgender people. It's mostly likely to pass the U.S House this fall! The homo-haters are getting left-behind in this battle for equality!

A Closer look at the Progress in Iraq!!!

General Petraeus has given the Democratic Congress his report on Iraq yesterday, the eve of 9/11. General Petraeus was accused by anti-war groups like moveon.org for giving a one-sided or flawed report. Are they right about General Petraeus? Maybe!

It's interesting to note, he didn't show these graphic of how Iraqis feel about "improvements" in Iraq:

* 65 to 70 percent of Iraqis say the escalation has "worsened rather than improved security."
* 78 percent say "things are going badly for the country overall," up 13 points since winter.
* 63 percent say it was wrong for the U.S. to have invaded Iraq, up from 52 percent in March and 39 percent in Feb. 2004.
* 47 percent now favor "immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces," a 12-point rise since March.

Bush: We're kicking ass in Iraq!!!

CNN:"The security situation is changing," Bush told reporters during the visit. "There's more work to be done. But reconciliation is taking place."

But according to the Sydney Morning Herald of Australia, the president gave a more-to-the-point assessment to Australia Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile.

"We're kicking ass," Bush said to Vaile Tuesday, according the Herald, after the deputy prime minister inquired about his trip to Iraq. On Thursday, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino would not confirm or deny the reported comment.

Justice MH: Wow! Should I be surprise? Well, I'm not. Our President isn't the brightest, and need to go back to school on grammar, and comprehension skills. This man is fooling no one! It's comments like these that make the U.S to no be taken serious.

Also it looks like Bush's economy is kicking ass as well: US housing woes deepen as delinquencies, foreclosures rise:

The Mortgage Bankers Association, which represents banks and other firms in real estate finance, said delinquencies rose in the second quarter to 5.12 percent of loans on one-to-four-unit residential properties, up from 4.84 percent in the prior quarter.
The delinquency rate does not count another 1.4 percent of loans in the foreclosure process in the April-June period, also up from the first quarter.

Moreover, an additional 0.65 percent of loans entered the foreclosure process, the highest in the history of the survey.

Breaking News: Hypocritical GOP Senator Larry Craig may not resign!!!

Oh Lord, this is getting even more interesting with the GOP party. Now, it's being reported that restroom cruising GOP Senator Larry Craig may not resign from the U.S Senate. The GOP party is already struggling toward the November 2008 elections to regain control of the Senate. Which I hope they don't. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell threatened to investigate Craig, may have started it already. What will he say about Sen. Larry's defiance of the GOP party's wishes?

Sen. Larry Craig is reconsidering his decision to resign after his arrest in a Minnesota airport sex sting and may still fight for his Senate seat, his spokesman said Tuesday evening.
"It's not such a foregone conclusion anymore, that the only thing he could do was resign," said Sidney Smith, Craig's spokesman in Idaho's capital.

"We're still preparing as if Sen. Craig will resign Sept. 30, but the outcome of the legal case in Minnesota and the ethics investigation will have an impact on whether we're able to stay in the fight -- and stay in the Senate."

Justice MH: I wonder what the GOP party Will do now? They're trying to please their conservative base, and regain their standards they claim to stand for. Will the GOP affirm their gay GOPs officials and same-sex behavior? Will they continue their witch hunt for the closet hypocritical GOP officials? That remains to be seen. GOP White House Hopeful received the "straight talk"!!!

GOP white house hopeful John MCcain was guest speaker at New Hampshire's Concord High School today, and a student named William Sleaster who identify as bi-sexual gave Sen. John MCcain some real 'straight talk":

Another student then asked McCain a question about what he would do for “LGBT” rights – the initials stand for Lesbian, Gay, Bi Sexual, and Transgender people. McCain was confused by the question and admitted to the audience that he did not know what the initials meant. Once it was clarified, McCain told sophomore William Sleaster that he was opposed to any form of discrimination, but he supported the military’s current “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy and that he opposed gay marriage.

“I believe that the sanctity of marriage between man and woman is unique and should be preserved, and I understand the controversy that swirls around that issue, and that debate needs to be continued to be held, but I support that position,” McCain said.

“You want to take away someone’s rights because you believe it’s wrong,” Sleaster followed up.

“I don’t put that interpretation on my position, but I understand yours,” McCain responded, seeming to enjoy the back and forth.

“I came here looking to see a good leader, I don’t,” Sleaster said before leaving the microphone to some boos and gasps from the audience and an eventual scolding by a school administrator.

“Listen, I understand,” McCain told the buzzing crowd. “I thank you, that’s what America is all about, and I appreciate your views.”

When asked later at a news conference, McCain admitted he had never heard the initials “LGBT” before, but knew the phrase.

Justice MH; What is with this Sanctity of marriage stuff? When we have an over 50% divorce rate and high levels of domestic violence and adultery out of control. Sen. McCain is divorce, but he dares to NOT allow same-sex couples access to marriage, leaving marriage a special club for heterosexual couples. The so-called "Traditional" Marriage is not so cut and dry as Christan conservatives would have everyone to believe. Sen. McCain says he opposes discrimination. McCain does support the discriminatory policy "Don't ask Don't tell. A policy that has discharge many proud gay Americans who want to defend their country. The country they fight for doesn't grant their every right privilege that guaranteed in the U.S Constitution.

Back to the whole Traditional Marriage argument from Sen. McCain. He says it must be preserved? How is opposite sex marriage being affect in states like Massachusetts with same-sex couples having access to marriage? I haven't received an answer on that, but some will find some silly reason to show how it affects it. Now the state Iowa allows same-sex couples to marriage, but we still need a step further on Marriage Equality from the Iowa Supreme Court. Sen. McCain should listen to this judge about it is unconstitutional, and violate the due process of law and equality for all Americans. Sen. McCain is full of contradictions on this social issue. He's trying to cater to the Religious right, but they don't trust him anyway. I really don't know why the GOP party chose to get into bed with the Religious. The only reason could be to play on the American people's fear, votes, and for power! William was right, he was looking for a leading, but he didn't find one. Oh, William sure found a flip-flopper, and an inconsistent man.

Young men like William, myself, and our generation is going to change America for the better. Conservative Christan groups and leaders see my generation is moving to the left on social issues, and other issues as well. To the left, to the left, everything you own, and your theocratic[fallible] bible to the left! Washington Post on Mike Rogers: The Most feared man on Capitol Hill?

Mike Rogers is known for outing hypocritical public offficals [more likely Republicans] who oppose gay rights, but engage in same-sex activity on the low. I hope those GOPs are shaking in their closets, because their hypocritical ways will not be tolerated. They should be very afraid, because Mike's going to expose them!

Rogers, sitting on a club chair in his Northwest Washington apartment, is basking in the attention. For three years now, he's been a feared one-man machine, "outing," he says, nearly three dozen senior political and congressional staffers, White House aides and, most damagingly, Congress members on his blog. On Capitol Hill, a typical phone call from Rogers -- "Are you gay?" he'd ask -- is "a call from Satan himself," says a former high-ranking congressional staffer whose name is on the list.
...In the coming months, he plans to post the names of "a few more" closeted Congress members on his blog, he says, all of them Republicans. There are 33 names on his published list, most of them men, 30 from the GOP. That fact reveals more about the Republicans, he says, than about him. Although a registered Democrat, he says he is bipartisan.

"I write about closeted people whose records are anti-gay," he says. "If you're a closeted Democrat or Republican and you don't bash gays or vote against gay rights to gain political points, I won't out you."

Justice MH: I say out them all! Don't fu*k with the gays!

New Orleans: Two years after Katrina

It has been two year since Hurricane Katrina flooded New Orleans, and displaced thousands of New Orleanians. The French Quarter hasn't been touched, and business is the usual there. However, much of the Gulf Region remain in ruins, and devastation.

Billions of money designated to the effort is not getting to those in need -- 42% of funds set aside for rebuilding and relief has not even been spent. The federal H2B "guestworker" visa program was set up for employers to hire people for the rebuilding effort. Because of the lack of oversight, abuse or workers, kidnapping and even modern-day slavery is occuring on the Gulf Coast.

The Institute for Southern Studies has published Blueprint for Gulf Renewal: The

Katrina Crisis and a Community Agenda for Action.

"On September 15, 2005, President Bush pledged that our nation would "do what it takes, and stay as long as it takes," to rebuild the Gulf Coast. Yet over 60,000 people are still in "temporary" FEMA trailers, and houses, hospitals and schools across the region remain shuttered. For thousands of people, the Katrina recovery has failed.

The study, published in collaboration with Oxfam America and the Jewish Funds for Justice, looks at 80 statistical indicators and draws on interviews with more than 40 Gulf Coast leaders to identify roadblocks to recovery, and ways federal leaders can tackle critical needs in the region like housing, jobs and coastal protection.

The study also features "Where did the Katrina money go?" -- an in-depth analysis of federal Katrina spending since 2005. The Institute reveals that, out of the $116 billion in Katrina funds allocated, less than 30% has gone towards long-term rebuilding -- and less than half of that 30% has been spent, much less reached those most in need".

Justice MH: So where's the Katrina money President Bush? Of course he's clueless, as usual! He's planing a tour of New Orleans and the Gulf Region. After that, what's on his mind and his corrupted Administration is to ask and beg the Democratic Congress for 50 Billion dollars for Iraq. Bush you are NOT the President of Iraq. You are President of the United States. I guess since New Orleans is a city with a majority of black and poor people, than their throw under the bus. "You And I Both Know": America's Black Homophobia Problem

"You and I both know that there is a homophobia problem in the black community." So began Washington Post editor Jonathan Capehart's question to Barack Obama during the HRC/Logo gay-issues debate last night. This question of Obama appears to both assume the universality of homophobia within the black community, and require Obama to situate himself in relation to it. Capehart's question continued with a discussion of Obama's willingness to speak difficult truths to the black community regarding other sensitive topics that might, from another mouth, look like a claim of black dysfunction. Capehart's "you and I both know"-- an attempt to play on their shared blackness, I guess -- easily morphs into "we all know"/"everybody knows" that the black community is homophobic; "we all know" that black ministers (all black ministers) are homophobic. More than the problem of Capehart's question, however, was the way in which Obama's answer simply accepted the premise. His answer never challenged the assumption behind what "we" have come to so easily accept about "black homophobia". Obama gave examples of the courage that he has shown by speaking to presumably hostile straight audiences at Howard University and in black churches in the South, without ever acknowledging the fact that these communities are not uniform on issues of same-sex equality. Capehart's and Obama's statements were made without regard to the consistent record of support that the Congressional Black Caucus has given to equality issues within the LGBT community. Such statements also fail to recognize the diversity of thought within black religious communities, including Jeremiah Wright, Obama's own pastor, who has been a leading light on issues of same-sex inclusion.

Perhaps more problematic (and heartening) was a question by the event's host, who asked Obama -- and only Obama -- to compare the black struggle for civil rights with the gay struggle for civil rights. Obama, I think, answered this question with as much honesty and intelligence as it could be answered, and then challenged the questioner to ask the question of the other candidates, not simply the black candidate. Unfortunately, no other candidate was asked the question. Again, this leads to the conclusion that Obama is being handled differently because we have concluded that there is such a species of dysfunction known as "black homophobia," wholly separate from, and more pernicious than, ordinary homophobia. It would be foolish and insensitive to deny that the black community's response to homosexuality does not have culturally particularized elements. Yet to listen to Capehart, one would think that homophobia is a uniquely black dysfunction, against which Obama had better be prepared to situate himself. Do we speak of Methodist homophobia with Hillary Clinton? Or Catholic homophobia with Biden? Do we force any other candidate, even Bill Richardson, to situate himself in relation to homophobia in the Hispanic community? Not that I have seen.

Finally, the obsession with this characterization of black homophobia, I suspect, is rooted in a desire to locate for the record the limits of the black community's commitment to an egalitarian social-political order. Evidence of the qualified nature of the black community's commitment to equality allows others to justify their equivocation on the issue of equality, not simply the equality of gays and lesbians, but about other marginalized communities as well. Like so much in this presidential campaign, Obama serves as a convenient canvas upon which to further depict the dysfunctions of black folk. There is a homophobia problem in the black community, but there is a homophobia problem in the Congress, and on the Supreme Court, and in the White House. Indeed, America has a homophobia problem. It is against this homophobia problem that any candidate deserving of the LGBT community's support should aim his or her attention.

Justice MH: What was said above i agree with most of it. Homophobia exists in every community, and society. The world is homophobic. After full equality for LGBT people is achieved, like racism, homophobia will still be there, just NOT out in the open as much. A Presidential Hopeful should focus on homophobia as a American problem, not as a one section of our country's problem! I like many right-thinking Americans should question homophobia, racism, sexism, and religious intolerance. Change is possible!

Is This Really A Win For Gay Rights?

I like Deb Price, but her current commentary entitled, "Pentagon thaws on banning open gays," strikes me as her, and so many other LGBT people and allies, as rejoicing for winning a tragic "victory." By repealing DADT, it is viewed that Congress, and the American people in general, are becoming more accepting of gay and lesbian people. I certainly don't see it that way!
In a time of an unjust war that has helped fuel largely world-wide contempt for us and our military policies; when the military is stretched so thin that it is at a breaking point; when a Draft is not politically possible, given the fact that the Administration fully knows that if there was a Draft there would be hundreds of thousands, if not more, very angry people marching on Washington demanding an end to this unjust war; given the fact that ex-felons have been necessary recruits to shore up a weakened military stretched to a breaking point, given its involvement in the war in Iraq, as well as the military involvement we have in other parts of the world, now Gay people are being considered to be further potential cannon fodder to the political-military machine. So, the priority of Congress and the Military has been to favor convicted criminals to join the military rather than allow openly Gay people to join, and make the military a career, if they so chose.

As Deb Price wrote in her commentary: "On July 31, the Republican Collins, hinting she's open to repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell, framed her question during Mullen's confirmation hearing in terms of a military so 'strained' that deployments are longer, convicted criminals are recruited, and linguists are in short supply."

So, the message really is the following: "We need more bodies. We can't institute a Draft because there will then be such mass revulsion directed against us that we will be forced to leave Iraq, as we did with Viet Nam, with our tails between our legs; those who voted to support this war (which is virtually every politician) will be voted out of office; it doesn't look good for us to recruit convicted criminals into our military, and by so doing, decent young people won't want to join, and we desperately need more bodies, so let's allow the Gays to join. Then, when the war is over (whenever that is), and we really don't need them anymore, we can then do our best to drum them out of the military."

For Gay people to be allowed to join the Armed Services and serve openly, during these times of war when bodies are desperately needed, and when linguists are desperately needed, I don't consider it a victory for DADT to be repealed, now allowing, out of political and military desperation, openly Gay people to become candidates for becoming cannon fodder, absent full and equal civil rights being accorded to LGBT people.

If repealing DADT were merely one part of a Civil Rights package that fully granted civil rights to Gay people, that would be one thing. However, just to repeal DADT absent the granting of full and equal civil rights to Gay people, strikes me as just being a cruel joke masked as a "victory" for Gay people.


Justice MH: I think this is a victory for LGBT Americans. For one, 79% of America wants DADT to be repeal, and allow openly gay Americans to serve. In Congress the support is in the majority, and steadily growing! This opens will dialogue on many LGBT issues to advance equality for LGBT people. This debate on DADT will help show that these troops are human who just happen to be gay! This will be without a doubt a victory!

Openly Gay Bishop Gene Robinson endorses Barak Obama!

America's first openly gay Episcopal bishop, New Hampshire's Gene Robinson, yesterday endorsed presidential hopeful Sen.Barack Obama.

Bishop Gene Robinson made pretty good choice in Obama. Anybody's better than Bush, even Rudy Giuliani. I already knew the GOP lacks gay support. GOP is already hypocritical with sex scandal, lies, and cheating. I haven't made my choice yet. It's either, Hillary, Obama, or Edwards on the Dems side. On the GOP just Rudy Giuliani. My Choice will be made known in 2008!

I have been watching this go on these past months, and wonder what's to hide if you're innocent? What has those who voted for Bush as their Dear Leader is hiding from Congress and the people? Bush's administration is so corrupt it's ashamed, and on the level of treason!

Thursday is the deadline for Karl Rove, Bush's top political adviser, to provide testimony and documents related to the firings, under a subpoena from the Senate Judiciary Committee. Also subpoenaed was White House political aide J. Scott Jennings. The Justice Department included both men on e-mails about the firings and the administration's response to the congressional investigation.
White House Counsel Fred Fielding has consistently said that top presidential aides — present and past — are immune from subpoenas and has declared the documents sought off-limits under executive privilege.

Ok! This whole executive privilege is a joke. He comes up with this: executive privilege, to get away with his sneaky ways. Bush has gotten away with alot in these last 7 years. I don't why Congress just doesn't impeach him. One reason is that Cheney would be worse. The GOP's joke of a impeach trail on Bill Clinton was insane over a blow-job. This President has lied about the war, commute Liby, and among other things. America has 18-months until he finally leaves for good.

Democratic Congress Vs. President Bush

On spending matters, the Democrats and Bush appeared to get nowhere in their breakfast meeting.
Bush has threatened vetoes or signaled veto threats against most of the 12 annual spending bills for the budget year beginning Oct. 1. The differences between Bush and Congress involve $23 billion in funding — a gap that the Democrats call small, and the White House portrays as wasteful.

Pelosi said the president was firm on his stand, but she added, "I'm not one to take no for an

answer."

Justice MH: For a woman Nancy Pelosi doesn't back down. This political war between Congress and Bush won't end until Bush is gone. Which is when America can finally get back on track!

Pew Research :: 37% Support Gay Marriage

Fewer than four-in-ten Americans (37%) support gay marriage, while 55% are opposed; support had dipped to 29% in an August 2004 poll, after peaking at 38% in July 2003.

Since 2004, support has fluctuated between 33% and 39%.

Gay marriage is opposed by most groups in the population; exceptions include young people ages 18-29 (56% support), liberal Democrats (72%), and secular individuals (60%).

Democrats continue to be divided on the question (49% support, 43% oppose); Republicans overwhelmingly oppose gay marriage (75% vs. 20% support), with 51%
strongly opposed.

Republicans are playing politics as usual for votes, but the gay cards is wearing out for them, and they know it! The Democrats are still struggling with this issue. As you saw above young people, my generation is more supportive of marriage equality. The reasons for that is because they either have gay family members or gay friends. So the next adult Americans coming up will be more supportive! It will be a new day in American!

Pro-LGBT Black Clergy Ad tells the Truth about Federal Hate Crimes Legislation!!!

In response to the ads run by anti-gay black ministers fronted by Bishop Harry Jackson of the High Impact Leadership Coalition, which appeated in USA Today spreading disinformation about the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act, a group of pro-LGBT pastors have responded in kind.

In a new ad appearing in USA Today, the National Black Justice Coalition, Human Rights Campaign and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, black religious leaders counter the claim of the puppets/uncle toms of the white evangelical/conservative bigots, that the passage of the measure would muzzle pastors like Jackson from spouting homophobic sermons from the pulpit.

Bishop Jackson clearly thinks gays are taking over as he expressed those feeling in his Town Hall article:

G]ay activists around the country are getting nervous that they are about to experience an embarrassing political setback. Instead of amending the hate crimes legislation that protects churches in a substantive way, they are simply crying out in a louder, more threatening manner. Gay advocates are not looking for fairness; they are looking for an upper hand.

A recent Gallup poll showed that 68% of Americans support adding sexual orientation and gender identity to the existing hate crimes laws, this is the kind of misinformation that Harry Jackson and his homo-hating friends in the pulpit give us:

Justice MH: As Bishop Carlton Pearson said: the bill clearly states,"Nothing in this act, or the amendments made by this Act, shall be construed to prohibit any expressive conduct protected from legal prohibition by, or any activities protected by the free speech or free exercise clauses the First Amendment to the Constitution" the hate crime bill says. Unfortunately, free speech, and the bible is NOT the real reason they oppose the expansion of the federal hate crimes statue. These black bigots put a new meaning to "bearing false witness", and they know their free speech is NOT threaten. The real reason they oppose this bill, in my opinion, is that the more pro-LGBT bills pass on the federal level than sooner or later it will not be popular to hate and oppose a minority's rights. It's like i said countless times on this blog, you have the right to free speech, but NOT the right to limit other American citizen's rights.

Moral Riot:'sodomy pushers' versus the Bush admin

The Cafeteria bible thumping bigots held their misguided press conference protesting the hate crimes bill. They continue to bear false witness that adding sexual orientation and gender identity to the existing law will threaten their religious freedom. The U.S Constitution and the hate crime bill itself strengthens free speech, but it appears they really don't care. It's all about denying others the right to federal protections from violence. These Cafeteria Christians also offered some new terms in how they describe gays as sodomy pushers. So add "sodomy pushers" to your gay dictionary. Let's see "gay agenda", homosexual agenda, sodomite, gay lifestyle, and homosexual lifestyle. Yup, that sounds like their language.

Here's what this Cafeteria Christian had to say:

Dr. Johnny Hunter of Life Education and Resource Network was among the several Christian activists who spoke at Wednesday's rally protesting S.B. 1105. Hunter contends crime by its nature is an act of hate.
"The hate crimes legislation being proposed by rabid sodomy-pushers is downright hatred," said Hunter, adding that he believes the move behind the bill is a "scheme" devised by "hetero-phobic" people.
"They insist that the government police the thoughts of those who have a natural attraction to the opposite sex," he offered as explanation of his assertion. "It's as if they despise and hate heterosexual couples." And the controversy, he insisted, is not about what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms. "It's about what others disapprove -- and when someone is doing the unmentionable in their bedroom, flaunting it publicly, and then punishing those who speak out against it."
Offering an analogy, Hunter said "just because a bank robber counts the money in the privacy of his bedroom does not legitimize the robbery."

Justice MH: Ok, so this fool uses the analogy of gays and bank robbery? How the hell you compare a criminal and an American citizen who is guarantee equal right under the law, no matter how much he bitches about it! He goes on to say gays are heterophobic? LOL! Larwd, I'm not going there. Anyway the hate crimes clearly out lines "Nothing in this act, or the amendments made by this Act, shall be construed to prohibit any expressive conduct protected from legal prohibition by, or any activities protected by the free speech or free exercise clauses the First Amendment to the Constitution" the hate crime bill says.

I think the real struggle we face when it comes to moral rot in this country is dealing with the fact that we have to wait until January 2009 for all the morally and ethically depraved criminals in the Bush Administration, who have left us more vulnerable to terrorism, finally get out of the White House. That place needs to be fumigated after their departure. The people who elected Dear Leader -- fundies like the above surely cast their votes for him based on "values" -- are blind when it comes to the litany of lies and obfuscation perpetrated by the Bush administration.

Justice MH: Indeed pam. The hate crimes threaten no one's free speech. It's time we admit what already is known to be true.
